The Case for Cornell - Questions for current and prospective students

Having been accepted early, I just received my acceptance package (and I assume that RD'ers did or will too). I was wondering:

which meal plan are you going for? For current students, how many times a day do you eat at a dining hall? Would it be inconvenient to go for the Bear Basic plan?

future students, do you know where you want to live? Current students, what type of housing plan would you suggest for a male engineering student, no preference for single-sex/co-ed, non-smoker (incase some dorms are known to have a lot of smokers).

I think that I would prefer a single room, but would you suggest getting one? I'm afraid that a single might make meeting new people more difficult.

on the instruction sheet it says, "When you accept our invitation... blah blah we'll send you a handbook". This doesn't apply to ED'ers, since we've already technically accepted, right?

This is really exciting : D

"- which meal plan are you going for? For current students, how many times a day do you eat at a dining hall? Would it be inconvenient to go for the Bear Basic plan?"

When i lived on campus, two meals a day plus $500 bucks was more than enough.

"- future students, do you know where you want to live? Current students, what type of housing plan would you suggest for a male engineering student, no preference for single-sex/co-ed, non-smoker (incase some dorms are known to have a lot of smokers)."

Not sure on this one, never lived on north.

"- I think that I would prefer a single room, but would you suggest getting one? I'm afraid that a single might make meeting new people more difficult."

singles are the best, you wont have any touble meeting people.

"- on the instruction sheet it says, "When you accept our invitation... blah blah we'll send you a handbook". This doesn't apply to ED'ers, since we've already technically accepted, right?"

no, you'll get it as well when they get them in. usually in the summer.

meal plan: i'm on the traditional meal plan (14 meals a wekk + 500BRB) and I use almost all my meals every week...i always eat breakfast and usually dinner in a dining hall. most of my friends are on the 10 meal/week plan b/c they don't eat breakfast. the BRB's will carry you through the semester for sure.

living on north: I'm living in dickson and it's pretty nice. In the end though , you don't have a choice.

on singles: I have a single. It is great. I signed up for the double thinking I should have that cliche college experience but a single ist he way to go. Especially since you arn't female and won't be put in balch, I recommend askign for a single.
