The Chance of a lifetime.

your EC’S seem good

I would say most of these are pretty likely except maybe olaf and carleton.

I may send both ACT scores to see if I can show some kind of consistency possibly to emphasize the low cumulative GPA really was because of laziness that I got over. also, both my writing scores are okay too.

It looks good, and though your grades and scores aren’t the highest, I woud suggest throwing in another reach or two. You have some interesting details, like the news thing-that could help a lot.

U of M- TC -range

UW-Madison -range
-Iowa State - in
-St.Olaf - While FA might be an issue in applying ED, you can always withdraw if the lack of FA is too big for your family. And if you’re applying ED you have more time to talk to the FA offices and they’re more likely to dole out scholarships for people who are required to attend. - In ED, RD reach(ish)
-St.John’s University

Carelton ( I know) Reach [But good school, I liked their mail view guide stuff.]
-St.Thomas - in

Thanks for chancing me. :3

Uhm…which St. John’s? The Great Books one with two locations, or the NYC one? I actually think you’ll be an in to all of these schools. Have you heard of Thomas Aquinas in California? It is a Catholic school, but I’ve heard incredible things about the education there…

I think he’s referring to one in central Minnesota, near St. Cloud.

yep definitely the one in collegeville, MN.
my dad’s alma mater. Its actually one of my safeties that I wouldnt mind going to.

I hate bumping my own threads. I need some more input here. like what I should do here and there. and Im taking the october SAT and will more than likely score 2000+

I really don’t know anything about these schools. I have looked at Carelton. You should get in.

^Hardly.

While I don’t know much about most of those places, I think Madison’s a high match and ISU’s a safety.

Why aren’t you applying to UIUC?

Im not entirely sure, I’ve never really looked at it too much for myself. I kind of like MN. its nice to me.

If you’re interested in Media (I figured you are, seeing how you’re anchoring), UIUC has one of the top Media Colleges in the nation. (The UMN might be better, I have no idea.) In addition, the school itself has the nicest campus I’ve ever been on and isn’t that far from Minnesota. I recommend giving it a better look.

I do a lot of media stuff on the side as an extreme passion along with acting. however my interests most definitely lie in the medical field, and I pn to major in biology wherever I go. which UIU-C is a great school as well.

shameless bump…

Ok, so I’m returning the massive favor you’ve done me.

Admittedly, I don’t know much about most of these schools - I’m better at East Coast schools. However, with some minor googling and collegeboarding, I think you are in everywhere except for Carleton. St. Olaf appears to be more of a match than a safety than the rest of the ones you list, however I think you’re safely “in” there as well. Carleton you’ll have to work at - and it will probably come down to the essays. Your GPA is a bit low overall, but I think that the upward trending will help significantly and your ACT is good enough to show that your GPA isn’t necessarily representative.

By the numbers, and by your ECs which are very good if not “stand out out-standing” so I think that you are an excellent candidate for all of the above.

Thank you very much for the chancing that has been done.

U of M- TC— Good match

UW-Madison—Should be in, though could go either way
-Iowa State—In for sure, safety
-St.Olaf—Slight reach, but I’d guess you would make it
-St.John’s University—Not sure, sorry

Carelton ( I know)—Should be in
-St.Thomas—Not sure, sorry
