Works for me -- onward and upward!

Willsmom, my friend's S scored in the 95th percentile on PSAT. We live in California. Historically, how high a score does one need to be commended? He is truly gifted in English, science, and math. My friend said he missed only 3 questions on each PSAT section.

Here's what makes my blood boil: when her husband, a high school teacher at another school, showed the guidance counselor there his S's scores, she said, "Oh, he'll get into any school he wants." I don't know if she was saying that to be nice, or she really meant it. How can a GC say that based on a PSAT score? I consider that malpractice. So many more factors enter into this: rigor of curriculum, GPA, ECs. This boy has taken the hardest courses possible and is a straight A student. I told my friend that there are hundreds (thousands!) of kids with the same perfect grades. What WILL get him extra consideration are his unusual ECs: drum major, trombone in band, has been a referee for youth soccer games.
