Wow, isn't (freshman?) year a little early to be thinking about college? I really would try not to remember college applications until you absolutely have to (middle of junior year is when they start to poke you). Enjoy your high school career while you have it!

mootmom-- I just thank god every day that I didn't apply to Brown (where she wanted to go, but her dad wouldn't let her). :}

Yea i am a freshman.... i really dont think about colleges alot. Just once in awhile i check out college confident to make sure that i am doing or taking the right steps, thats all.

I'll probably check online, but I'll be gone most of the day Saturday. Right now, I''m not too worried, but I would like to wish everyone the best of luck.
(I don't know if I'll get in, it's just that the decision is out of my hands now - as to the i'm not worried part)

i won't be home until 1PM. but i might be able to check. I hope they don't lock the computer rooms on saturdays at my local community college. (I teach korean there)

I shalt awaitest the snail maileth (an indication of how old fashioned I am)
My folks on the other hand insist that i tell them my username and password so they can access my decision, but I am respectfully refusing. For now, with less 140 hours left, I prepare myself for a rejection. if i get accepted, my joy will be uncontrolable. Conversely, if i am rejected, i wont be too crushed. Well all the best to thee my fellow applicants. peace

Well... if i get in great, but if i dont well... I am spared making a fool of myself (friendly dare). So either way i win or lose something so :P.

Good luck everyone...and relax! A college decision is not the conclusion of highschool, or a decision about the rest of your life....even if we don't get in, we'll still have learned things in high school, right? (while it was still free?)

You know, I get sick of college admissions officers saying how they couldn't accept so many wonderful people. While it's supposed to be comforting, obviously, I just find it really insincere. I mean, either you're accepted or you're not. There is no grey area (other than waitlist, which is basically nothing at MIT), so they shouldn't try to sugarcoat the harsh reality. In any case, I really do wish all of you the best of luck! I hope it all goes well for us!

"acceptance to MIT: chance of a lifetime
rejection: failure of a lifetime"
Whole heartedly disagree. Failure of a lifetime does not exist in my dictionary. Besides, this alludes to the fact that all rejected applicants are all time failures. My source of inspiration (a great mind) got waitlisted by MIT and accepted @ stanford. He thrives there now.
I hope u were just kidding, girlfriend (mine???)

bashir7, you are very wise to disagree with that sentiment. My congratulations on a healthy and positive outlook, and best wishes to you and everyone else here for successful futures, wherever you end up.
