To keep it short and simple, the classes I put for Planned in my TAG to UCSB and what I put in the UC apps are completely different. It shouldn't really affect their decision as the classes I put planned / IP in the TAU for the UC Apps will still let me fulfill all of my requirements to complete the TAG.
The only question I have is do I need to notify UCSB or will they just look at my UC app and make the changes themselves?

Make the changes and explain the difference in the additional comments (The first additional comments section). That’s what I did.

As long as those classes you are taking satisfy what you put on the TAG. For example, if you put that you were going to take Spanish 1 and Physics to satisfy the language requirement and Science requirement for the IGETC, and you are now taking French 1 and Planetary Astronomy, you’ll be fine since those classes still fulfill the language and Science requirements.

@ emprex you can’t use the additional section because it’s closed :(

I used the additional comments section after the courses listed. Not the one at the end. Is that one open for you? I had to remove my summer course and add an english course and I explained it in that box. It’s right after you confirm your courses, not the ones with the personal statements.

Hah 2 very different answers.
Anyone have any other advice?
Is emailing UCSB not necessary?

^Probably not necessary, but it wouldn’t hurt. As mermaker said as long as you meet the same requirements you should be fine. If you want certainty contact them. They generally understand that when you fill out the TAG app and UC app in Fall that your planned courses are going to be fairly fluid due to a variety of factors. So it’s pretty common for people to change their planned courses later in the January update. As long the change doesn’t preclude you meeting any of the necessary requirements then you should be fine by using leaving a brief comment in the comment box in the academic section. Again, if you’re really worried about it give them a quick call for certainty, they don’t bite and it should take just a few mins.

The UCSB counsler told me it is okay. UCSB is chill about it because they know that we aren’t sure if we will get our “planned” courses when we registrate at our CC
