The Classic Dilemma....

All of the schools that I've fallen in love with are reaches! I need help finding some safeties that I'd ENJOY attending. I'm planning on majoring in Biochem and staying in the NE area.

Right now I'm looking at Brown, MIT, Cornell, Vassar, Williams, and Juniata.

Don't be scared, I'm not going to overwhelm you with meaningless stats and boring ECs =) I'll just give you a few essentials:
5.1 GPA (A+ in an H/AP class = 5.3)
Currently 2nd in my class
Mainly music/community-based ECs
Blah, blah, blah, boringness, etc.

It would be very helpful if you could list any schools that have strong science programs =)
Thanks!

normally big public Us have better sciences than LACs.

Emory.... still a reach but not as much and GREAT Chem labs thanks to the CDC next door

I do like Emory, but I could never leave the Northeast. I have a really young sister and only seeing her during breaks would be very difficult for me.

Union College, University of Rochester, Brandeis University.

connecticut college, wesleyan, tufts

Not sure how great they are in your specific majors but:

Syracuse
Boston U.
Any of the state schools(the traditional safeties)

Wesleyan and Tufts wouldn' be any more a safty than Vassar (though I'd say you have a pretty decent shot at all three).

I'm not sure about the sciences, but you might want to check out Skidmore.
