The Combined English and Writing Score

I know this may sound like a stupid question, but my cousin and I were having a discussion concerning the English/Writing score. Does the combined English/Writing score take the place of the English section score? If so, does that mean that the composite has to be recalculated when college applications ask for the composite score?

Ex: Someone scores a 30 for their English score, and ends up with a 31 composite score, meanwhile their English/Writing score is a 28 or a 34. Would their English/Writing score bring up or bring down the composite, or does the score not really matter for the composite score?

Thanks in advance!

Eng/Writ score has nothing to do with the composite score. It's just a separate score for Eng/Writ combined.

it's seperate. you'll have 6 scores:
English
Reading
Math
Science
=Composite

but you also have
Writing (essay score 1-12)
and english/writing
none of which change your comopsite.
