My son's status was changed to "The committee has acted on your application, and we have mailed notice of the decision. If for some reason you have not received our written notification, we will be happy to provide the results over the phone 10 days after your letter was mailed. " today.

What does it mean? We are from OOS thus we expect to receive a decision by mail in a few days (I hope). I sincerely hope this status change will make the waiting and second guessing finally end.

Congratulations to you and your son! I don’t think they mail out rejections until April, so that’s really good to hear that you got this update!

… also it’s not just the admissions committee changing it to throw everyone off as some suspected because there’s an offer for you to call.

I wonder if USC Admissions is being hit hard right now. I can access but certain parts of USC Connect portal aren’t showing me info. I’m going to try another computer right now.

PS No good! Just basic info and now no status is showing. We’ll just have to remain patient.

Arrgh! I STILL can’t get on USC Connect to see if S’s status has changed. Guess I’ll just go home in 30 minutes and see if the mailbox is stuffed. And make my S unstuff it if he’s there.

For fun, I decided to check my son’s status this morning and lo and behold I saw the “The committee has acted on your application…” status! : )
We are thinking this is good news!
He applied to Thornton School of Music for music composition, but will double major in math too.

just curious, what does it normally say for the status before “acted on…”

this?

The University of Southern California is pleased to offer the ability of students to receive online messages regarding the status of their application. However, all decision notifications are made via postal mail.

or is it just blank lol

I wont find out till june anyways…(transfer student)
