The committee has acted on your application

My son's status was changed to "The committee has acted on your application, and we have mailed notice of the decision. If for some reason you have not received our written notification, we will be happy to provide the results over the phone 10 days after your letter was mailed. " today.

What does it mean? We are from OOS thus we expect to receive a decision by mail in a few days (I hope). I sincerely hope this status change will make the waiting and second guessing finally end.

Good luck to you all!!!!

Congratulations to you and your son! I don’t think they mail out rejections until April, so that’s really good to hear that you got this update!

… also it’s not just the admissions committee changing it to throw everyone off as some suspected because there’s an offer for you to call.

Congrats, your son has been accepted!

Exciting! Congratulations!

Congratulations! I’m so jealous! Hahaha.

Congratulations! I have not received that status change…hopefully soon!

midwestDad2:

Sounds REALLY good!

I wonder if USC Admissions is being hit hard right now. I can access but certain parts of USC Connect portal aren’t showing me info. I’m going to try another computer right now.

PS No good! Just basic info and now no status is showing. We’ll just have to remain patient.

Congrats!

I’m also very jealous :frowning: haha

Congratulations!!! :D

midwestDad2,
WOW! How exciting! Congratulations.

Best wishes to all who are waiting.

midwestdad…a huge congratulations!
Your son’s acceptance appears to be in the mail!

My D’s status changed to the “acted on…” the morning of the day she received the package in 2008.

I think you can celebrate!

Arrgh! I STILL can’t get on USC Connect to see if S’s status has changed. Guess I’ll just go home in 30 minutes and see if the mailbox is stuffed. And make my S unstuff it if he’s there.

This is amazing news, congrats to your son! So jealous right now…

For fun, I decided to check my son’s status this morning and lo and behold I saw the “The committee has acted on your application…” status! : )
We are thinking this is good news!
He applied to Thornton School of Music for music composition, but will double major in math too.

My status also changed to the, “The committee has acted on your application,” status. I’m extremely excited! Hopefully it is good news though…

Congratulations to everyone and good luck!

just curious, what does it normally say for the status before “acted on…”

this?

The University of Southern California is pleased to offer the ability of students to receive online messages regarding the status of their application. However, all decision notifications are made via postal mail.

or is it just blank lol

I wont find out till june anyways…(transfer student)

His status was previously the “forwarded to the committee for review” one.

lol interesting how everyone gets up so early and come to CC…
Sorry I digress =/

Just something to clarify Dainese’s question, before “forwarded” his status probably says “being reviewed”.

I just checked my status…

The committee has acted on your application, and we have mailed notice of the decision. If for some reason you have not received our written notification, we will be happy to provide the results over the phone 10 days after your letter was mailed.

:D

Mine changed too!
