So I'm applying Early Action, and the application is due October 15th. However, I am taking subject tests for my other schools to be sent in on January 1st and the date the scores get back to us aren't until afterwards. I read the Common Application website and it says, "Once you have submitted your Common App to any institution, your application will be locked and you will not be able to make any changes to it. "

So my question is, how do I put my subject test scores on my application when I get them when the application locks after I submit my app for early action?

Forget the Common App, what does the school say? Most say that if you apply EA/ED, then the October tests are the latest they accept. Some RD’s have December as the latest test they will accept. Some will accept the January tests.

If you need the January tests to apply, then you might as well apply RD. Otherwise, they will think you are flaky for applying EA and not getting everything in on time.

The scores are sent directly from College Board, and do not go through the Common App.

You don’t need to have any SAT or SAT 2 scores on your common app. The school must confirm your real scores with what the collegeboard sends them. Those are the ones they really look at. If you want to put the scores, you can to give them an idea of your scores but you don’t have to.
