All right. I hate asking because I feel like it’s a really stupid question but!
<li>Do you have to pay to use the Common Application? From the Common App Online instructions:</li>
Now, does this only apply to schools that have fees or is there a separate additional fee for using the Common Application?
<li>I’m applying to Barnard, which has a supplements page. </li>
Again, on the Common App page, it says:
I already have the printed copy of Barnard’s supplement from their admissions page. Does that mean that I can’t mail my supplement? Or does that only apply if I get the supplement from the Common App page? Or is there ANOTHER supplement found only at the Common App page and I have to mail Barnard’s web supplement and electronically submit both the Common App and an additional supplement?
I hope that makes any sense and I’d really appreciate any help. I’ve never used the Common Application and to be honest, I probably wouldn’t be using it at all, had it not been for Barnard. (And since I’m using it for Barnard, I’m also considering using it for NYU, American, and Smith - unless there’s an additional fee…)
And if the answer is really obvious, go ahead and point it out to me, then feel free to smack me upside the head for being so oblivious.
<p>First, there is no fee for using the common application. The fee is simply the standard application fee you pay to the schools.</p>
<p>Second, after submission, click on supplements in the top bar.. If the supplement says "CREATE" that means you MUST send your supplement electronically.. If it says LINK, that means the only choice you have is to obviously print, fill and mail.</p>

<li><p>That's what I thought about the fees but I wasn't sure and I didn't want to click "pay fees" and end up paying an extra $200 or something for the schools I sent it to and didn't necessarily have to use the Common App.</p></li>
<li><p>Okay. I just didn't know if online submission for supplements was the only way when using the online Common Application and I wanted to make sure because I have to get my Barnard supplements mailed today and didn't want to mess up. As it turns out, only NYU need to be submitted online. </p></li>
</ol>
<p>Thanks for the help, I really appreciate it. :)</p>
<p>Make sure you print out any confirmation of payment that you get. In case the school says you didn't fork over the dough, when you did. (I'm a last minute applicant myself via CommonApp, so don't feel guilty... lol)</p>
