the common cure for college anxiety 2 (chance an international?)

This is turning into a circus.

circuses are fun fiona. people pay to watch.
:)

hi, can you please chance me?
I’m also an international student currently studying in Singapore

major intend to take in future: Econs/Banking

Family contribution: <8k

List of schools aimed:
Dream: swarthmore, grinnell, carleton, vassar, middlebury, colgate
Reach: macalester, hamilton, bard, lafayette, whitman, kenyon, conncoll, F&M, dickinson, skidmore, gettysburg
Safety: Kalamazoo, hobart & william smiths, hendrix, hampshire

I choose these schools because i’ve heard these are quite generous in terms of aid to foreign students. I’m most concerned with 2 problems: my low critical reading score and my high financial need.
so what do you think?
thanks :)

you just got hijacked srinath

what the hell.

go get your own thread my friend. i’m sure you have good chances; they’re not to be found here.

I think the chances are very high for you to get into Chicago.

hmmm, could you explain?

I don’t like to speculate, especially on subjects that I’m not well-versed in, but since you posted on my thread:

Columbia (Possible)
Yale (Possible but unlikely)
Brown (In)
Penn (Possible)
Chicago (Possible)
Cornell (Possible)
UC (B/LA/SD) (Easier for in-state/country applicants, but possible, SD and LA very possible)
Johns Hopkins (In)
UMich (In)

Good luck!

in at brown? i’m not quite sure i follow…

Some of you ‘chancers’ have absolutely no idea what you’re talking about.

haha this is a funny thread, make sure you tell us where you get into Srrinath

Like I said, I don’t like to speculate, but there is a person at my school who got rejected by Stanford, Yale and Princeton, waitlisted at Harvard and Cornell, yet got into Brown. Thus, I’m assuming Brown is not as difficult to get into than the other schools.

Now, this was probably bad logic in hindsight, seeing as college admissions is multifactorial/subjective and there might have been something that stood out to Brown and not the other schools.

Remember, this board is public. 99% of the people on this board are random, non-experts. Expecting anything else is dumb.

even if they’re random non-experts, i’d like to believe they have the ability to make informed decisions based on their own chances and hence they can comment in an informed manner about others’ chances. and even if that’s not the case, i have enough belief that collective speculation often has some weight. there will be a few predictions that will be off but as a whole, i’d like to believe there’s some degree of accuracy in chance threads.
