The Consolidated Senioritis Thread (H.S. 2010)

hopefuleagle86: “unprepares” is what they call when you don’t change, right?

you are, literally, too lazy to change gym shorts

you win this argument

Haven’t done euro or chem hw in two weeks. I’m on break now so it’ll be at least a month before I do any.

I used to do all my hw right when I got home from school, even stuff that wasn’t due for a week, but now I do it in study halls or not at all

I have counted how many days I have left of school countless times… only 30 left!

Well first of all, I haven’t had homework all year basically, and I’m in two APs (was in another, but dropped it…perhaps another symptom of senioritis). When I do get homework, I only do it if it’s going to count as a quiz, and even then, I half-ass it in study hall the day it’s due.

No one pays attention in class, all we do is talk about prom and graduation and mess around. I go the nurse’s office almost everyday to nap during classes. My Statistics teacher actually gave up on my entire class, saying, “Ah, you guys are second semester seniors…what is there to do, anyway?”

Oh! And every time I have Gym, I put my gym pants on over my normal pants. Too lazy.

grades.
F
A (ceramics)
D
C
C

Haven’t done any homework, I’m hoping i’ll get by on classwork and tests. didn’t apply anywhere so why even bother ? I only need 3 classes to graduate. I’m completely done with high school. Between feb. and march I skipped school 11 times and a letter came to my house which I fortunately got to before my mom did. Probably won’t be skipping class anymore…

At the beginning of the year I was planning on taking 5 AP tests in May…right now, it is at about 2 and I don’t even want to take those.
Luckily, the only classes I still have homework in are AP Calc A/B (which he gives you credit if you “try”) and AP Enviro (which my friend and I have started splitting between us).

Haven’t done Anatomy and Physiology homework in a month and a half (his fault, he made the homework optional! if you don’t do it though, you’re screwed for the unit exam)

3 weeks behind in AP Chem (i just haven’t done anything, i feel bad about this the most haha)

English - haven’t written a paper/speech that’s worth 3 essay grades (it was due a week ago, final copy is supposed to be handed in on Monday)

Photography…haha that’s a joke. i never did anything the second trimester either and still got an A. my camera broke so i don’t even have one

Physics… the one course im actually trying in (my advisor is the teacher haha)

:(

I have one month to go (seniors at my school have “May Projects”…we do an internship type thing/project on anything we want and dont have to go to school/do finals). May 3 is when the May Project starts

first semester : AAAABB
second semester: PPPCCD (p = passing)

-AP chem has to be the worst class for second semester seniors… no motivation to do anything other than not to fail

I’m a junior and I have as much senioritis as you guys do.

The only grades I have right now are a C (73%) and a D (60%).

The C, I stopped doing HW for a while. The class is undoubtedly the worst thing I’ve ever taken. My teacher has never once come to class prepared to teach. He never gives us a lesson. He can never pronounce the vocab and honestly doesn’t seem to make an attempt (he recently turned Alsace into Al-uh-say. The letters aren’t even in that order!). He tells us “facts” that are blatantly untrue. At 50%, he has the lowest AP passage rate in the school. He walks out of the room and leaves us for as long as 10 minutes while we are given “study time” after finishing busywork HW (which is all we ever do in class) or during the pointless films he shows us – ostensibly to learn but seemingly to avoid teaching – and sometimes even during tests, on many of which by the way, the majority of the class receives a 60% or lower, despite everyone constantly and blatantly cheating w/o him doing a thing to stop it. If you’re not going to come to come prepared to teach, why should I come prepared to learn? But I’ll get the HW in, maybe even by tomorrow.

The D is actually going to lead to a grade higher than the one I normally have in that class, I think. It’s a D that only includes a quiz and test grade, and normally, I fail both! School’s hard :(. So, once the homework grades get put in, I might have a high C rather than the 70% I got last quarter. Maybe even a B ! I always get 100% on HW, btw, no matter what I actually do, because the teacher thinks I’m a good kid, if a bit stupid.

I think all my other grades are A’s though. Sorry for not being good enough at senioritis.

Millancad, I suck at senioritis, even more than you. -___-
1/3 of the way through this semester, I got only one B, although by now a couple other classes have probably dropped down to Bs as well.

English: I never read books, during class I pretend to do the work but I just doodle, or I read another more interesting book. We have to type up 2000-word journals about once every 3 weeks, I just BS them about 3 hours before they are due to turnitin. I look at reading quizzes and think “who’s this?” “what’s that?”

Math: Not that much senioritis here. My teacher is an OCD psycho, even though I like her. Same thing for science.

US Gov: I don’t read the book, catch up on other hw in this class. For tests, I do a nice cram session the day before.

Computer Science: Early in the morning, I’m barely awake. I have no clue what I’m thinking during this class, I suppose I still kind of work hard though.

Track: I’m really, really slow now, and I try to get my way out of all the meets.

I just found out that my Spanish grade dropped from an A at the beginning to a C+ now in the middle of the semester. I don’t care that it’s not an A, but I do care that I’m so lazy I can’t even stand to attempt to memorize vocabulary and conjugations anymore.

And on my report card, my teacher wrote “Performing below standards/ability level” and now my parents are kicking my ass for it. LOVE senioritis.

Speaking of senioritis, how far do can our GPA go this semester before top-tier schools begin to rescind acceptances?

^ For most top-tier schools, I’d say it would be best to NOT get anything lower than a B.

I’ve heard many people say that you want to avoid C’s if at all possible.

Hmm even if we get all Bs? I’ve heard of someone who got Princeton, then got a 3.0 second semester and was rescinded. =[

^ Ouch. Well, what school are you scared of losing your acceptance to?

Well right now it’s MIT or one of the mid Ivies

Five chapters of psychology to do. Isn’t that what free periods are for?

Ah, spring break procrastination.
I love most of my teachers for not assigning much homework over the break.

I save my REAL senioritis-ing for Physics. I’m always just like “eh, maybe I’ll answer a couple questions and get partial credit.” Then I usually forget to turn the paper in anyway. Yay for tests being weighted for 70% of our grade…and for my teacher trying to help us not fail completely.
If I’m lucky, I’ll get a 4th quarter B just because the teacher said it’s relatively easy. Maybe.
