I’m applying to UChicago for c/o 2021 and I was curious about the Core. I’m indifferent to having a core curriculum, but I was just wondering how difficult it is in subjects that aren’t exactly your forte. I’m just asking because I’m not that strong in science courses (I’m not even taking a science class senior year because my schedule was a mess that the counselors couldn’t change; I got to explain myself in my Common App though). B/c I’m not taking a science this year & in general I didn’t really enjoy the science classes I have taken so far, I feel like I forgot everything I know. If I were to go to UChicago, would it be difficult in that sense? (considering other classmates might come in with multiple science AP’s or just STEM strengths in general).
The science core is the easiest part of it to take easy classes in - many of the classes are easy As. It’s much better to be a humanities student who can’t science than to be a science student who can’t write to save their life GPA-wise in the core.
