<p>You said that (A) if you are applying to college and low income, you are more likely to be Hispanic/Black. You are substantiating this by citing a figure that says (B) if you are Hispanic/Black, you are more likely to be low income. Do you see how these two things are not the same? Hispanic/Black people are a minority in the US population and are a greater minority among college applicants. You cannot use B to support A given these facts. You need to come up with an actual statistic that says that the majority of poor applicants to college are URMs.</p>
<p>It’s like saying I have 10 apples. 8 of them are red and 2 of them are green. It just so happens to be that 1 of my green apples and 6 of my red apples are rotten. I can say that green apples are more likely to be rotten but I can’t say that rotten apples are more likely to be green.</p>
