so the one concern i have w/ lc is the fact there seems to be nothing to do socially on campus and so that means u r always going out into the city which seems like it could get expensive. for the current students at lc on here, does it get to be expensive just to have an average level social life?

i cannot talk myself but my bf goes to the LC campus. He is always staying after classes with his friends and sometimes they stay on campus sometimes they go to one of the restaurants around. Sometimes he goes to work out with his buddies at the gym and during spring he also plays baseball. I think that if you are a pretty amiable person you will find things to do, i mean its nyc after all. He is a commuter and has friends that are also residents, they go and chill at the dorms. I guess i should ask him if it gets expensive or not but today is not a good day. I’ll tell you this NYC is expensive lol so I guess it can be.
this is just all imho

What is an average level social life to you?

To be on the safe side, expect it to be expensive. If going out to bars and clubs are your thing, this will probably costs a lot more than if you pick and choose relatively cost-effective events and activities. A lot of students I know would rather go to Central Park and hang out rather than go see Broadway shows or something equally pricey. You can always treat yourself to a more expensive night on the town twice a month or something–that way you’ll keep your costs down as well as maintain a social life.
