According to Wilmingtonwave on another thread, official decisions were mailed out today…which means those of us on the east coast could hear by Saturday!!

If decisions were mailed out today, I would start expecting them tomorrow or Friday! Ahhh this is so exciting. I have the potential to hear from 4 schools by Friday when they all originally said April 1!

Yay, superghuman! Partay!
Haha I’m gonna have to wake up at an ungodly hour on Saturday for Middlebury online results… (at least there’s no stressful tests and things in my classes this week, cause it’d be quite impossible to concentrate and study.)

I just called Admissions and asked if the decisions were mailed yesterday. The woman I spoke with said “they left our office yesterday.” Don’t know if she was being specific since they probably go to a mailroom before leaving campus.

So will Wake email the notification ahead of the mail? I am sooooo nervous!!!

Hi InterDaniel, they don’t email any notification prior…so be prepared to stake out the mailbox!

I actually received my acceptance email yesterday afternoon… I’m surprised that no one here got it…

I don’t know if my email was sent out by accident though.

Are you international? If you are, that might explain the acceptance email. CONGRATS nonetheless!! Very exciting

Yes, I’m international student and that’s probably why Thank you! I’m very excited

Did it have any scholarship or financial aid offers in it?

My son just get the letter. He has been accepted. He’s been accepted to Wake, UNC, NC State, and Pitt. Waiting to hear from Duke. He’s going to have a tough decision to make unless Duke admits him.

We just got a letter too. What size was your son’s letter?

Just got my letter, accepted! Couldn’t be happier, Wake is my dream school, now I have to pray that I can find a way to pay for it.

I was deferred, but will probably attend UNC anyway. Does anyone know how much of an emphasis Wake puts on class rank? I come from a competitive high school in Wake County and am ranked 90th, even with a 4.5 GPA. I had excellent recommendations and essays, (but no in-person or webcam interview) I’m just a little puzzled as to what went wrong.

My son got a large envelope.

Just to let you know sjg, my son got a 1400 SAT, 2040 0verall. He’s ranked around #10 in his class and has taken several online classes through the local community college that are supposed to transfer to the schools in the UNC system. He’s in a few clubs and the honor society. I’ve read the boards for all the schools to which he applied. There was one kid that got deffered by UNC. He was in state with better stats. I told my son he might have beat out that kid since that kid might be located in an area UNC has several already enrolled/accepted. My son’s online classes may have helped him as well. Who knows? Looking at the cost, Wake will have to offer some serious assistance and be willing to accept most of his online credits if he were to enroll. Right now, pending a campus visit and financial assistance, Wake is slightly in the lead according to my wife.

Well, congratulations to your son! I hope the aid/credits work out for you guys.

I have a similar SAT, but the competition at my high school is killer to the point where the UNC admissions rep who came to my school said they don’t even consider class rank for my school. About 70 kids get accepted to UNC each year, and roughly 50 go; however, we only average 2-3 students going to Wake each year.

According to my son, there were probably about 6-8 students from his high school that were accepted to UNC. One student won the Park Scholarship and is headed to NC State. Do you go to Chapel Hill High? My sister lives in Durham but owns property in Chapel Hill. She is seriously thinking about making the Chapel Hill house her address so her son can attend Chapel Hill High.

My daughter received a large envelope today! She’s not home yet, but it says “Welcome to Wake Forest” on the front, so I’m thinking that’s a good sign.

sjg–I had thought an interview was now required for admission to Wake Forest. Did you request an interview but Wake Forest wasn’t able to interview you, or did you not ask for one? Could the admissions office have thought you weren’t truly interested? If you suspect that was the case, you might wish to communicate your level of interest when you accept a spot on the waiting list.
