From the WFU website:

Once your financial need is determined, an award equal to your need will be offered. If you have met all of the financial aid deadlines, you will be notified in writing of your award shortly after admission letters are mailed. Most students receive some combination of gift aid (scholarships and grants) and self-help aid (student loans and employment). Students do not have to accept the self-help component of their financial aid package to receive gift aid or scholarships from the university. If a student refuses any portion of the self-help aid, however, the university is not obligated to increase the amount of gift aid. Families should review their financial aid award letter carefully and use the information to plan for the upcoming year’s educational expenses.

Note: It says IN THE LETTER that financial aid letters will be mail in MID-APRIL. I hope people stop asking, if they supposedly got the letter (but apparently didn’t read it).

^packer22–There are several legitimate reasons to ask about financial aid and scholarships. Some people may be curious about what timing to expect for financial aid offers, but have not yet received the admissions letter (or any letter) with that information. Others would like to know whether notifications have been sent for all merit-based scholarships; that topic was not addressed in the letter. Unfortunately, the only way to know that a student is not going to be offered merit aid is to learn that others have received scholarship offers when your student has not.

Agreed. If financial aid only means need based that’s no help to us. I’d love to know if/when other scholarship info going out or if already has. BTW, daughter accepted: 1/249, SAT 1510/2300, ACT 36, 5.29 weighted
