the day is coming closer and closer....:D

siigghhh

My brain is too fuzzy for hours: Four days!!!

my friends have been so incredibly supportive and patient..especially since i rant to them everyday about how this week is going to be so long, and i blab to them about how many days/hours are left until "H Day" as we call it. i just hate to disappoint them, because my friends have more faith me in me than i do in myself.

me too, can't work, can't think, and Stanford deadline is 15th!!

oh, and I have a question, should the postmark be 15th, or do you need to submit everything(meaning everything already got there) by 15th?

Can totally relate. Everyone is compeltely confident I'll get in except for me. There's no great way to explain it to them either.

pgcokie- you don't have to submit it by the 15th at all- the deadline is Jan 1st. They do say they prefer it by the 15th, but all evidence seems to show that's because getting a good number of applications early makes the admissions officers' jobs easier (and there's nothing wrong with that- they do a lot of work in a very short time).

Both my roommates sent the application in on the January 1st deadline- there's no indication whatsoever that it gives you a disadvantage.

Secondly, to answer your question- they look at the postmark for deadlines. However, it's MUCH easier to do it online- I was reluctant at first, but it made the whole process really, really simple.

Thanks Admiral :D, but I'm a little ocnfused. I already applied to Harvard EA :D and I was talking about Stanford (I hope that was not so inappropriate)
and I thought Stanford deadline was 12/15...Hopefully I'm wrong? I sent my Harvard app on 10/31 by paper. (Really close to the deadline :))
I'm doing all other apps on-line, but I need to send in the resume and all the other things by mail. :) Thanks again tho, and wish me luck, 'cause I really need it.

Oh, sorry, pgcokie, I thought you were talking about the Harvard RD dealine!

I didn't read the previous post, so I had no idea you were talking about Stanford. Yeah, Stanford's deadline is 12/15, and for most schools that refers to the postmark- even if they receive it a day or two later, as long as the postmark is 12/15 or earlier you're fine.

ETA: Oh, and good luck!

89 hours 17 minutes...

i can't believe it's already the monday before we find out our decisions. i'm feeling strangely serene today...got 1.5 hours of sleep last night, that's probably why :D

4 Days, 0 Hours, 35 Minutes

I'm assuming the emails go out on Friday at 5 pm, Eastern Standard Time, correct? So, 4 pm Texas time.

is it possible that we'll get our decision letters in the mail on friday BEFORE the email decisions come out?? or, will the letters be mailed out from harvard on friday, so that we'll get them at our house on Monday?....

I highly doubt that we will get the actual letters before the email. That's the magic of the internet, it's faster than the speed of paper (not trying to be stingy or w/e)

any chance that we find out our decisions before the 15th at 5:00 pm?
cuz i heard from some ppl that some decisions were given two days earlier than the listed date last yr.

Once again, highly doubtful. They said December 15th, right? You will get it December 15th around 5:00 pm. If anything, most of us will get it about 30 min to an hour later. Honestly, what's a few more days? Don't stress too much over it, it'll just make it harder on you.

Hey, good luck everyone. I will be your neighbor(MIT) later, lol.
Best wishes to all.

Man, I can't believe that I never asked this. Decisions are coming at 5:00 eastern time, right? Just want to make sure.
