Thanks very much for the suggestion, but she wouldn't dream of it (and, even though the wait is very difficult, I'm glad she feels that way). We'll just sit right here and wait it out with the rest of you.

Here's a song we are singing to pass the time (and if we get really nutty and feel clever, we can try to rework the lyrics to fit the Purple Valley):

"Somewhere Over the Rainbow"
(lyrics by E.Y. Harburg)

Somewhere over the rainbow
Way up high,
There's a land that I heard of
Once in a lullaby.

Somewhere over the rainbow
Skies are blue,
And the dreams that you dare to dream
Really do come true.

Someday I'll wish upon a star
And wake up where the clouds are far
Behind me.
Where troubles melt like lemon drops
Away above the chimney tops
That's where you'll find me.

Somewhere over the rainbow
Bluebirds fly.
Birds fly over the rainbow.
Why then, oh why can't I?
If happy little bluebirds fly
Beyond the rainbow
Why, oh why can't I?

holycow, are u serious?? they sent them thursday? did you call them or sumthg? how did you know? thanks for the info, anyhow! ...possibly just one more day to freak out :-)

if you mean how as in, through what manner, I'd tell you I'm just trying to ge on with life as normal..work, school, homework..plus excessive amounts of CC checking! Not to mention the gratuitous time spent on the williams website, ephblog, and wso. And the time spent ranting to friends in person and on AIM.

if you mean how as in, how'reyadoin, then I'd tell you that I'm NOT coping hahaha! I'm so flipped out it's a little pathetic..I have no attention span and my brain's all over the place

hah well I sound pretty healthy, don't I? :P

I'm just basically on watch, waiting to shoot my mailman if he doesn't show up with a letter...then mail his dead body via FedEx to 33 stetson court

Well, I think you should only shoot him if he brings a letter that's not an acceptance.
Otherwise, if you kill him for not bringing the letter, then you'll never get it!!!!!!

But either way...killing the messenger...understandable ;)

Disclaimer: I do not condone widespread postalworker slaughter.

seriously, though, lately i've been thinking that admission to williams (besides being a great school for academics and an excellent place to be) is my ticket to wall street, wealth, and my ride out of middle class america. It scares me to think that my fate lies in a sealed envelope in some postal workers mail truck....

yeah, letters went out thursday, so i'm expecting mine today. my whole body is trembling with a myriad of emotions right now, as i wait for the mail to arrive. this took me about 5 minutes to type because of my shakiness! best of luck to all of you, and congrats to all who have gotten in.

Wow, I can't believe that I could possibly know in an hour or so. I wasn't expecting this....letter please please please come today

But yeah, ditto about the "fate lies in a sealed envelope" thing...I'm especially nervous b/c there really is NOWHERE else I want to be besides Williams, and if I'm deferred then, well...yeah. This is nervewracking.
