@kelli…haha totally feeling the song dude…I feel just like that when I think of the whole transfer thing…ahhhh

So, just to get this straight you can register for the summer classes without actually having been accepted??? Ohhhhh, I totally wanna do that!

@ nicolles: Yeah, you don’t have to be a student yet to register for summer session. I know this because I am registered for summer session lol. I can even see Telebears!

What are the dates for the sessions? I am going on a cruise and it might run in the middle of them

[Berkeley Summer Sessions](About Summer Sessions | Berkeley Summer Sessions)

On the upper right-hand side of the page. :)

Oh wow, you can split it up into two summer sessions. I will definitely make use of that. Great link!

Oh thanks! Bummer they both run during my cruise :/. I did see the language intensive program and I really might do that next summer. I think for L&S you need 3 yrs hs foreign language and I only have 2.

No problem, man! I’m going from June 21st to August 13th. My second class doesn’t begin until July 3rd, so I won’t be living on campus until then though.

Summer sessions, from the tons of Berkeleyans that I’ve spoken to, are endlessly advantageous:

1) 6 units is full-time. At $292 per unit, it may seem pricy. However, you’re not paying tuition, and that 292$ per is WAY cheaper than it will be in the fall with tuition tacked on.

2) Summer classes at UCB are easier. I’ve confirmed this with many people, and even though they’re supposedly condensed, the work material/hw is lessened and/or easier.

3) You’ll get a taste of Berkeley life early! You can meet people in your major, where you live, meet kids in class, wherever.

4) Ease into the Berkeley workload.

@ emili but it says transfer registration doesn’t open till april 30th?? How did you register?

I had to register as a visiting student :). Obviously I’m not admitted yet, so I had to roll with visitor enrollment. I’ll be switching it to UCB student status if/when I’m admitted on 4/30. I decided to do this so that my classes that I needed wouldn’t fill up before I could register.

Btw…Berkeley is SOO cool. Go to the link I just posted and on the bottom-right they have what’s called:

Live Webcam Views of Campus.

What other college has this?! Too cool…just awesome.

ohhhh…but, can you do that? Just change your status? Wouldn’t you have to drop the class then re-register? I’m just wondering cause if that’s the case then the people on the waiting list would get the class, not you? Hmmmm…but if you CAN just change your status that’s AWESOME! SO calling tomorrow to double check…

btw…Berkeley IS awesome!!!:D

23 more days!!! SHIEETTT

i can’t even bring myself to focus in school anymore…

^ yeah neither can i…

It STILL hasn’t hit me yet! Something is definitely up…

guys, I am counting down for berkeley too… but apart from that, I still havent heard from a single school…
i know I shouldn’t take it as an indication of anything, but this is definitely discouraging…

edelynly, I think you and I share the some sentiments. I’m not as excited like most CCers on this board.

For me, it’s a defense mechanism. If I were to get rejected, it wouldn’t be a big deal because I didn’t make it a big deal. But at the same time, I’m not really doing anything because I’m waiting for decisions… it’s a bit of a distraction. I don’t really feel any apprehension towards this… I’m oddly indifferent.

Eating at the taco truck that’s right next to school for the first time… Thought I better try it before I leave :)

we call the taco truck at our school:

The Roach Coach.

Taco trucks are awesomeeeeee!!!
