The Countdown

Oh yeah definitely lomkh and VictoriaFelt; thank you all for the welcome! Here are my stats just to let you all know what I am working with

I am currently at Riverside Community College
Major: Political Science with an emphasis on Peace and Conflict Studies at Berkeley hopefully if I am admitted.
GPA: 3.73 (4.0 in all major prep including political science, and peace and conflict studies)
IGETC will be completed this spring (the only class that is holding me back is my foreign language requirement which I am currently fulfilling right now!
Applied to UCLA, Berkeley, UCSD, UCSB, and UCR (In at UCSD, UCSB, and UCR)
TAP/TAG: No
I was involved with the UCB starting mentor ship program
EC’s: Lots of great E.C.
Essays: I feel my essay was thoroughly comprehended and well written because my goal was to really let the reader know who I was which i felt i did, yet I also expressed how my interest in my major would lead me to my career goals in life as far as becoming an attorney just to make it a long story short for you all. I say it is a 9.5 to 10!

@ justice: You’re in, bud. I like your essay, I like your starting mentorship program, I like your GPA, and I like your passion!

@ emilsinclair: Hey I appreciate the support and condolences from you man! It would be a dream and honor for me just to be accepted to Berkeley! It’s funny because I was debating whether or not to join this forum at first because I only was viewing the posts, but then I started to get into it and became really excited when the first acceptances to the other UC schools were shared on here first and many people that got accepted to their schools shared their support and appreciation for one another just to get into a university. I just wanted to show the same support and celebrate with my fellow peers on here as well because I was once told “it’s not a race to the university, but it is a marathon because we will all be at that point one way or another”, for I am glad I finally got the chance to join this forum. I’ve also seen many of your threads and posts here on CCC in the past few months, and I’ve got to say your stats are pretty impressive, and I know your going to be in for sure to Berkeley with your Psychology major. You also show knowledge, desire, and passion yourself when it comes to getting into your dream schools!

@ justice: I was about to slip into the shower and head off to bed, but then I read your post. Honestly, that was one of the nicest, most considerate posts I’ve read on here. I really appreciate that! I’m so glad that you’ve joined; we’re all in this together. When those first few letters came out (for me in this order: UCSC, UCD, UCSD) I started getting really excited. In my experience, having only ever received a letter from ITT Tech coming out of high school, these were priceless moments that I will always cherish. Every time I see my letters of acceptance I can’t help but feel nostalgic.

You’re absolutely right! It’s not a race, but is a marathon. We’re passionate about our majors and prospective school (UCB in our case) because we’ve worked so hard. I truly hope to see you in the fall! Also, I’d like to let you know, that I’m considering a minor in Peace & Conflict Studies. Perhaps one day, you and I will have a class or 2 together!

Btw, you and I have nearly identical stats! lol.

just 15 more days guys!!!

@justice: i think your in forsure! I did the starting point mentorship too, didn’t really help me that much thought but it was cool lol anyways good luck!!

15 Daysss ><

14 days… woot!!!  :)

14 days…2weeks…

Justice23, I attend Riverside Community College, too!

Also, I love this countdown we have here. Each time I mark another date down on my calendar, I think that we are another day closer to hearing from CAL  dun dun dunn

The evening of April 30th can’t come soon enough!!!

This entire time I thought Emilsinclar9 was a girl- Emily Sinclar. I heard UC’s are reducing in-state admissions and accepting more OOS students. Heavier competition it seems like.

@edmfanatiq:…Well at least it’s cleared up now lmao. What made you finally realize that I am a guy?

@edmfan…haha I thought so too…until the other day someone commented he was a he, not she…hehe…I totally read emily not emil…hehe…

Personally, I love that they’re accepting more OOS students…it improves my odds  sorry guys…

lol who the f cares about Cal right now!!!

i want to hear from UCLA nowwwww!!

sorry Cal, i still care about you tho ;*

LOL at the Emily comment.

@emilsincar9

I saw a post of someone calling you a dude. At first, I thought he/she made a mistake, but I came across more and more posts that referred you as “man/dude/bro”. So I concluded that I made an incorrect interpretation of your username (Emily Sinclar).

@ edmfanatiq: Glad we’ve cleared it up haha. It’s all good.

haha :)

14 days…damn the closer we get the longer the days seem to take to go by
