The Courtyards

I'm an upcoming Freshman and I was thinking of living there my first year.
I was wondering if anybody who lived there could tell me if it was a party dorm or not.

This is what I got from a review site about The Courtyards

I live there now, and I really really wouldn’t recommend it. First off, it’s an apartment, not a dorm. That’s false advertising on their part, bc they are in no way affiliated with UF.

But yeah, it really is a party place. It’s known as the place that will always have a party, if you can’t find one anywhere else. Which is nice sometimes, but it’s impossible to escape from the party if you need to sleep or study or, well, do anything but drink.

thank you guys very much.
i guess i will stay in the dorm i was assigned…a permanent triple in riker hall
maybe next year me and my roomate can find something better,
any suggestions?

My daughter will be a freshman starting Summer B and she leased a place at Jefferson 2nd Avenue which is just a few blocks walking distance down 2nd Avenue. It’s a little further than Courtyards but the units were brand new in 2008 and are very nice. They are even a little cheaper than the dorms and they have roommate matching and allinclusive individual leases. She’ll be in a 4/4. They also have a private garage with reserved parking that is not oversold.

The rent is around $550 a month including parking.

You should check it out.

kablamo: i heard riker hall wasn’t so bad
