The D-plan and getting internships?

I'm a rising sophomore at Dartmouth, and I've heard from various upperclassman that staying on all 4 terms sophomore year and taking off 2 terms junior year (such as fall and summer) is quite common. My question, however, is will you be able to get an internship junior year without having previous work experience (ex. internship sophomore year). It's not that common for people to do internships freshman summer so I was just wondering.

The internships I'm mainly asking questions about are finance related, either ibanking/consulting. So does this approach work? Or should I take a term off sophomore year for hopes of an internship?

ask this question there, you’'ll get responses from people who actually work in banking/trading/consulting
I think it depends, for top tier BB anks such as MS/GS/JPMorgan, you’ll probably need a sophomore internship and a monster junior year internship. Sophomore year isn’t ask important as junior year but it’s still needed to keep yourself competitive.

Yes, you will be able to get an internship junior year if you are on all four terms of sophomore year. There was significant recruiting during sophomore summer. Talk to current sophomores to get more information.
