The Dark Knight Rises

I would post my comments here, but you can check out what I thought about it here: [The Dark Knight Rises | Random Film Buff](http://randomfilmbuff.■■■■■■■■■■■■■/2012/07/21/the-dark-knight-rises-2/)

I just read your review, and I’m not trying to be rude, but you literally HAVE to see at least Batman Begins to appreciate this film. The Dark Knight as well if you want to be emotionally invested. But seeing TDKR without seeing either of the previous two? No offense, but it’s foolish. Many plot elements of the first two are vital to this one; I mean, Bane’s entire backstory is only fully-understood if you’ve seen BB. And if you haven’t seen TDK then you don’t have any idea why he’s become a recluse. Your review is flawed because you went into the third movie of a trilogy without seeing the previous two and expecting so fully understand the plot.

The plot is fairly easy to understand. Yes, at times it’s muddled but that’s how every Nolan film is. You just have to wait for like an hour and everything will make sense.

Another thing: this movie cannot standalone. It absolutely can’t. While TDK can stand alone (doesn’t borrow many plot elements from BB other than Rachel romance and emotional investment in characters of Fox, Alfred, and Gordon), TDKR can’t. Simple.

Go watch the first two. Understand them (BB is simple to understand; TDK can be a little hard to follow at times but if you watch it a second time it makes sense). Then see TDKR again. I can guarentee you your opinion will be different.

^ I’ll take your advice. Perhaps it could be a “Before: TDKR without watching BB or TDK” then an “After: With BB and TDK In Mind”.

I rented and watched BB and TDK. Well, my opinion still stands the same. TDKR is a mumbled mess. It might be the unpopular thing to do, but eating up everything Nolan shucks out of this series is extremely “foolish”. These two feel the same, too.
