the date of freshman orientation

do any of u know when the official freshman orientation is (i guess the first day for freshman at Cornell)? If I remember corectly from my packet, is it around 8/17~19? I need to make a reservation at Statler hotel and plane tickets and stuff..

August 18th. http://www.cornell.edu/academics/calendar/

Move-in date is Aug. 17, the Cornell web-site has assigned move-in times split up by the first letter of your last name. Orientation starts that time forward - classes start Aug 23 I believe. Plan to arrive in Ithaca on the 16th if you can- I believe Statler is sold out - there is a new hotel not yet open until June that had room last week when we made resv. The Homewood Suites -

Yeah, move-in day is gonna be hectic. There was a lot of traffic for the class of 2010 move-in and there will be a crapload of people all over the place. Should be fun.

what move-in time did you guys get? I got the 8am-11am and i'm soooo freakin happy. i get to set up my 1/2 of the room and get everything done early and just relax until the orientation sessions begin.

Damn, I got 2-5 pm. It's like a 5 hour drive... I feel bad for my parents. They're not staying over night, and driving 10 hours a day is rough, esp. if they're not back until 10 or 11ish. :

Reverse alphabetical...that sux.

when do you find out what move in time you got?

where is everybody getting all this infromation on what to do???
i have the "To Do" list for new students, but this stuff isnt on there??
what are the next things that are due??

THANK YOU =]

OK WHAT THE HELL are you guys talking about? i paid my deposit and that's about it i haven't gotten ANY OTHER INFO yet...i also applied for housing...and its not confirmed yet...ARGH IM FREAKING OUT lol

Don't worry guys you're good . There's nothing else you NEED to know or have yet as long as you turned in your deposit and housing thing. I don't think they started confirming housing yet. You should get a Cornell Bound packet in the mail soon with more forms to fill out (there're due June 11 and some of them are due in July).

Here's a link to the "to-do" list: http://newstudents.cornell.edu/first-year/todolist.html

If you click the link i posted a couple spaces up, you can see where we got our orientation-move-in-time information from. We're just more bored than u guys and searched on the cornell website for info you guys will get in the mail when you need it anyway.

Oh, and guys, read the book for orientation. I'm an OL next year and I've started reading it and I enjoy it quite a bit. I have to say that it's much better than reading The Great Gatsby for the class of 2010, which was boring since nearly everyone had already read it.

Don't worry about the time slots. I went to an earlier one for moving in and they didn't seem to care.
