The deadline of withdrawing a class has passed, but I still want to give it a try.

Hi all,

I have some questions about withdrawing from a class, after the deadline has passed.
I know I falsely estimated the grade that I thought I would get.
My school only allows me to retake the class if I get an F.
Also, I'm planning to switch my major, and after I switch the major, I do not need this class.
I just got the appeal form, and I know the chance is small, but I still have to try.
Have anyone done this before? What are some good reasons for my statements?
Yes, I have been very stressful because of this class. Is that mean I should go and get a doctor note?
Or should I mention that I am not doing well in this class anymore?
I'm afraid the reasons that I put would turn out to be a counter-effect.
Any opinion is appreciated!!
Especially who have done this before or whoever knows how school thinks about this.
Thank you.

Actually, one of the reasons why I didn’t drop it was because my financial aid would be affected. But now I would rather want to save my GPA. Should I also mention this? I really don’t know what to do now. I hope I can make this appeal letter looks better. I don’t know what to do if they don’t approve me. :[

I would try talking to the professor and come up with some very compelling reason for the late withdrawal. Maybe you can even work something else out?? If not, I think a physician’s note would help your cause. If you withdraw after the deadline, that’s usually a F anyhow, right? Good luck.

I think I would get an W if I can withdraw it. Thanks for your input anyway!
