Hey, I'm a little confused about transcripts.
So my school says that they submitted my transcript to colleges already, and my senior 1st quarters were part of the transcript.
Do these transcripts get updated if the 2nd quarter ends while the colleges are reviewing applications? Will colleges see my senior grades with the 1st and 2nd term grades?

Hi,
Usually you can check with the college if the school has submitted the transcripts. The senior year part of the transcripts are typically just to tell what classes you will be or are taking during that current year. Sometimes you must request for senior year 1st quarter grades to be sent to the colleges you have applied to.

Check with your guidance counselor to see if they will be sending 2nd term grades and if they sent the 1st. I have noticed with my school that you have to constantly check up on if they have sent your transcript, recommendations, etc.

Some colleges request to see your “mid-term” grade report, after the first semester (or first two quarters). If they don’t request this, then no, the transcripts will not be updated before a decision is made-- they may not even consider the first quarter grades, as many students will have only submitted grades through their Junior year.

Look into each school and see if they require a mid-term report.
