the December 1st deadline

if you apply to be a candidate for scholarship and get rejected, do you find out at the end of january?

do people get in early (end of january) without getting a scholarship?

basically, my question is if you are rejected for a scholarship, do they reject you right away or will you be considered along with the rest of the regular decision applicants?

childish,

It is difficult to give you an answer to your question. With the common application policies may have changed in the timing of the admissions process. Why not e-mail your admissions counselor and ask about the notification schedule?

In the past, students received a letter in February stating that they had not been selected to interview for a Trustee or Presidential scholarship, but their application was still being considered for admission and other scholarships. Final decisions arrived in March, with rejections coming last near the end of March.

Students accepted in January included Trustee and Presidential candidates as well as many Dean’s scholarship awardees and the Bacc/MD candidates (Bacc/MD is currently not being offered, so they will not be a part of the early admits this year).

As Georgia Girl mentioned, it remains to be seen if this same pattern will be followed now that they are using the Common App. There will be significantly more applications this year, but I am sure USC has made preparations for that.

Good luck!

@alamemom: okay, thank you very much for clarifying. i’m pretty sure i won’t be getting a scholarship, but i submitted early to test my luck. i just wanted to make sure that i won’t be judged (admitted/rejected) solely on the early (dec 1st) pool.

The early date is not ED.

i know it’s not ED, and i didn’t write ED or EA. i just wrote “early” because it’s easier than writing “considered for scholarship”.

if you didn’t understand my question, it was that if i submit before the 1st, would i be judged with the other people who submitted on the 1st or with the people who will submit on jan 10th?

alamemom answered my question. but thanks anyways.
