We are Asian, but we are caucosoid. There are three biological subgroups of humans: caucosoid, mongoloid, and negroid. Those in each category have similar genetic traits. The negroids are those from Africa basically. The mongoloids are the east asians and the native americans. The caucosoids are the Italians, Nords, Eastern Europeans, Arabs, Afghanis, and lastly Indians. So, we’re more related to white people, and you can tell by our similar facial structures. However, India has a mixture of caucasoids and mongoloids. If you’re a maratha like me then you’re caucasoid. South Indians can look different though, as they’re part australoid too. India is soo diverse. The wikipedia on this is really interesting.

I is confoooozed.

Lol that Wikipedia fails. Never trust it ,it’s full of mistakes. White is considered British didnt us Indians hate them back then because they terrorized us ? Wouldn’t that be an insult? However, the answer to your question is yes we are considered Asian .

Genetically we are similar, but the only major difference is skin color and culture, which is a reason the British terrorized us? That biology stuff is true, it’s not just on wikipedia. We are Asian because we’re in the same geographical area, but NOT the Asian associated with the stereotype where asian=japanese, korean, chinese, thai, etc.

I agree with you but I’ve always thought we were phenotypically different from other races. I never noticed similar facial structures or anything .

Wouldn’t that mean that we are Caucasian? I mean if a Caucasian with darker hair just tanned a lot I am pretty sure we would look very similar.

India is unique: we have caucasoids, mongoloids, and australoids. These groups used to be in their separate parts of the nation, but globalization and intranational migration has caused the mix of all these types. Phenotypically, we are similar: we have open eyes, small-medium lips, forward brows, forward face in general. Our noses are most similar to greeks, and italians and arabs, NOT nords who have long pointy noses. But there can be differences because of gene flow, which you may have been noticing. So, yes we are Caucasian IN GENERAL.

One word: BIRYANIIIIIII

I’ve tried northern biryani and hyderabadi biryani. I like hyderabadi better.

I’m Hyderabadi! You have good taste. Lol :)

haha I didn’t know there were different types of biryani :)

A DESI THREAD!! So happy to see this lmao…not surprised though. A site like this is like motherland for brown people.

So, you know those stereotype brown people videos on youtube? Who watches AKakaAmazing’s vids? they’re the best!

PS- 2 days ago I got my AP Bio exam results. I got a 5. I was happy but nothing too big cuz I was expecting it lmao. I told my dad…his reply: “…Why didn’t you get a 10?” …“the highest is a 5, dad” …“Oh…ok.” end of conversation.

I watched Russell Peter’s Red White and Brown! Haha.

Those stereotype videos are so accurate. And the “**** ____ say” videos. :)

I don’t know where you draw the line of being “brown,” but I’m largely southern Italian. Also, my hair and eyes are fairly dark brown. No, I haven’t experienced much discrimination based on my race or ethnicity.

@Nivers1027: That was so funny!! Indian parents, always aiming high!!! LOL!! I feel like that is something that could happen to me!! Congrats on getting 5!!
