As soon as you receive your assignment, post your dorm assignments here! Let the postingcapolypse begin. . .

And here I thought this thread was about how the assignments were already received today!! Major let-down…

LOL.

Sorry to dash your hopes haku. :|

But, in case you’re wondering, this is the news source I got it from:

I called because of some billing issues. I’m in a double in San Nic. :)

Did you find out your roommate as well?

I just called the housing assignment number and was shot down by the lady who answered the phone. Laame.

Yep. They said they will do that. . .

Yeah but other people are saying that they found out by calling, which is why I thought I’d have the same luck. Oh well, looks like I have to be patient. I read on the Facebook site that we can find out via email as well! I hope the email comes before the snail mail…

You can check if you are in a double or triple by looking at billing. My daughter signed up for a double in Santa Cruz or Anacapa and was billed for a triple. She is not very happy having to share a small space (two closets) with three girls. Looks like they are bringing in more students to make more $ so they are packing you all in like sardines. Not cool.

There will ALWAYS be students who drop out of UCSB before fall quarter starts, or who drop out after their first quarter.

So, there is a good chance your daughter will be de-tripled sometime during the year. …

I really don’t think they are bringing in more students just to get more $. Unfortunately most schools take a gamble with their admissions. In general schools know that only a portion of the students they accept will actually enroll. They can look over previous years’ data to make their best guess as to how many students they should send acceptances to, in order to fill the spaces they have for enrollment. This is one of the years that UCSB got a big surprise when an unusually high proportion of students actually enrolled, many more than how many usually choose to attend UCSB. And now they’re stuck trying to find space for them all…

I personally think a triple is a good idea, money-wise. I shall post my dorm assignment as soon as I receive it.

I agree. I don’t understand why people are so worked up about triples. It’s so expensive as it is…I’d be willing to save money any way I can!

I wholeheartedly agree with hakufox :)

You guys have great attitudes about it!

That was the bright side, we save a lot of money! And you definitely have the right attitudes! Good luck to you all :)

I heard a rumor that the FSSP Students can pick up their Fall room assignments tomorrow at the front desk!!!

I read on the Facebook site that FSSP students will have to wait for the assignments to come in the mail.

Nah, I didn’t ask who my roommate is, but it’s not a big deal. Meh.

Also, the email comes a week or so after the snail mail.

I just read on the link Hairy Lemon posted that FSSP Students Fall Dorm assignments will be at the front desk of San Nic, I read it on Facebook…
