I am extremely interested in Conn, it is my first choice. But if I was accepted I was wondering about the dorms. Which "kinds" of kids lived where? What is the north known for, south, and central. Please respond, thank you.

Hey there! As a Conn Coll student, maybe I can help you out with your question.

I’m a sophomore, and last year I lived on north campus. The Plex is nice because you’re connected to the only dining hall open on the weekends, and that is lovely during the winter when it’s below freezing outside. Also, it’s pretty awesome having air conditioning during the warmer months. The Plex doesn’t close for breaks, so it has a sizable athlete and international student population.

This year, I’m living on central campus. I love it because of its close proximity to the library, and Cro (our student union). Central campus has Burdick House (quiet living) and Blackstone House (substance free living) – so there a lot of students who tend to be more laid back than your typical college student. I’m kind of a nerd, so I like it a lot. There are still parties on central, but they aren’t as intense as other CC parties.

And finally, there’s south campus, which is definitely party central. Thursday through Saturday, there is always something going on. If you love a lively environment, then south is definitely where you want to be. You’ll never be bored, and you’ll meet a lot of people. South also is home to Knowlton House, which is a language dorm, and you’ll find a lot of international students and people who are studying culture living here.

These are stereotypes, though, and are not indicative of every resident. You’ll definitely make friends, and find all kinds of people on every area of campus. And also, if worse comes to worst, you can always have a room swap. If you’re looking for something specific, apply for specialty housing. Res Life is very nice and will make every effort to accommodate your preferences.

Good luck with your college apps!

Thank you for replying and Conn college just sounds like it has a place for everyone:)
