The Dreaded 89.x

Yeah, a 74 is a C here too.

So we got one last test back in my Lit class today (I thought I failed because I only wrote 3.5/5 paragraphs for my essay) and I got an 84 :D:D:D That brought me up to an 89.8, so that's rounded up to an A-!

I have no idea why they're so mean. To make up for our lack of super hard classes? To try and pretend we're better than the other schools in the area? No idea.

Last year in History I had a 91.5. My teacher uses a point system, and there were 800 or so points that quarter. Kid sitting next to me had a 91.4, with exactly 1 less point out of 800+. I got the A, he got the A- hahah.

I had an 89.45 in English which doesn't round up to an 89.5, but an 89.4. Missed A- by .05 of a point. >.>

Got a 89.2 my freshman year, 1st semester and it was the best thing that ever happened to me.

I never received a B since.

Some of you guys are lucky because my grading system is ridiculous
A-93-100
B-85-92
C-80-84
D-70-79
No way do I think an 84 should be a C that's crazy

Sorry, IMO teachers shouldn't round up, if you have below the cutoff for an A, you have a B, it's as simple as that...

I hate to inquire, but how would getting a lower grade than your average bring your average up? Asking post #61

dinoian, say a teacher made 25% of their student's grades tests. if they failed the first one, an 84 would definitely bring their grade up!
