the dreaded question to admissions

HAVE YOU RECEIVED MY APPLICATION?

some schools i applied to such as lawrenceville and andover both have the rly convenient accounts tht tell u which parts of the application they have received...
other schools such as hotchkiss and taft dont have the account (as far as i know)...would it be okay if i emailed them asking that question? i know many ppl wud probably b asking the same thing....

It is fine to email the person who interviewed you and ask if your file is complete.

Advice on message board etiquette. If you type your question in proper English (ie no texting) you are far more likely to get a response.

^haha. yea. just be formal, and ask it "nicely".

they might not have opened it yet, i went to a interview on sat and they said that they didnt have my application, but that there was a huge pile of unopened ones in the office.

I ask them all the time. Don't worry, they'll reply and tell you which ones are missing. I don't think they mind...

I think the schools usually send a note saying they have received all of your materials (at least ours did). In any case, I think admissions would be fine with you calling and asking.

JB1
haha ill try..but im not used to typing every single word out and capitalizing them all correctly like MOST people on here...so much faster when you ABBREVIATE =) its not like i was typing the chat room kind where every letter is replaced with a number or something like that..
in addition to that, the people who have interviewed me are not the best ones to ask so i think im just gonna ask admissions

One of the schools was missing an item, so I called every school and asked if this was a good time for them to check my son's application status. One school asked me to call back in a week and the rest checked immediately.

lawrenceville has an application status page?
