The dream is over?

Hello,

I am applying ED to Wharton

I just received my SAT II scores:

an 800 for korean with listening

and a 550 for math IC

Is it over for me with this math score?

I got 600 on the SAT I!

Should I delay some days before rushing the scores so they get it kind of late so it wont make such an impact on my decision?

Hate to be harsh, but I'd say yes. First of all, you should have been taking Math Level 2. Secondly, a 550 is downright awful for Wharton.

should I delay sending the scores in?

like only send on wednesday or thursday?
or maybe even friday at night?

They probably won't review your application unless there are two SATIIs. If you have two better ones on file already, don't send at all. If you don't have them, your application will probably go into incomplete pile.

Also, why are you applying to Wharton if you're so bad at math? You do know that majoring in business will require you to take Calculus and Linear Algebra courses, not to mention finance courses that use math.

The title of this thread disturbs me

even if I have good hooks??
Is it kind of possible to get in to wharton with a 550 math?

I mean they must be reviewing my app now right? once my SAT II arrives they will put in my folder just to complement! Or they will actually wont review at all until SAT II is there?

well you already applied ED, so nothing you can do about it now. If you don't have 2 SATs, they won't view your app as complete

If you have amazing hooks, then you're still fine, but unless that's the case, it looks difficult. I don't want to say impossible because you never know.

So If my SAT's are even there yet they didnt even see my APP yet?

I'm sure they see the app, but they would know it's incomplete, and they don't admit people with incomplete apps... at least I don't think so.

I hate to correct your misconception, but the only "math" that is required for wharton is Calc BC.... no linalg/diffeq.
The upper level finance classes do require a bit more math. which may be what you are referring to.

also, some people go to wharton to major in areas that are more theoretical, there is almost no math in some realms of microeconomics and macroeconomics

GoCollege: perhaps its time you tell us what your 'hook' is, so we can realistically estimate if your chances are really over.

GoCollege: Admissions Dean Stetson is my uncle.
everyone: [silence]

:)

GoCollege, don't worry, it would be ashamed if the only thing between u getting in or not is ur SAT II score. They start reviewing apps on Nov.28 in case u want to know. Btw, u probably got a low score on Math I b/c the curve for Math I is very small. You should take Math II because, for example, you can miss like 9 questions and still get a 700. :-)

foxdie: LOL. i wish that were true for moi!

Oh and who are we to tell you your chance of getting in? We're not the admission committee!

so what are your hooks?
