"The dumbest Generation" by Mark Bauerline

You mean back in 1939?

My kids can download music and movies…after I (a mom) fix their computers. They can’t google or find a bus schedule or even find the bus stop after I get them the sched…but they sure can find concert tix.

But, this will change. They are getting smarter with each year of college. Btw, I heard our kids do better on the SATs because the tests have evolved. I can’t imagine kids today with the old word analogies.

And, Sk8trmom, *…a rush to push every kid into college. * Hallelujah, someone finally acknowledged the elephant in the room.

Intelligence and common sense should not be confused.

The latter is an learned trait.

Kids know how to use technology. Older folks knew how to drive cars. Both are just technologies with some level of usability.

Ask kids how the technology works and listen to their answer.

It’s magic.

How does a GUI work? Is it just part of the computer or is it a million lines of code?

E.D. Yes - I mean back in 1939. (But I suppose you could add each generation that recalculated it . . . incorrectly - post war and mid-80s)

Fogfof- I never asked for help! I just wanted to see what peoples opinion was about the book, and secondly I am not in college, I start freshman year this fall. Hence why my description says Carleton 2015!

Glido, I don’t think there was even Pong 1.0 back in 1939! :)
