One of the people I know at Vassar jusr told me that they send out decisions in order of accepted-deferred-rejected :O
Yes, I am hyperventilating !

Hey everyone... here's a bit more information to hopefully calm your nerves a bit. It's based on what I know from friends who applied ED last year and two years ago...

Internationals don't always get their decisions emailed before domestic students hear. My friend from New England heard on the 10th of December, while my roommate from last year--an international student--didn't get an email until the 14th of December.

Usually, if you live within a two hour radius of the school, you get your letter the day after it's been sent out. Thus, there's no reason to be concerned right now about not having received your letter yet if you live in, say, North Carolina. In addition, thanks to the variability in post office business, some students get letters earlier than others, even when they live in the same area of the country. So if you live in, say, New York or Connecticut, I wouldn't worry yet about no letter being bad news.

Well we live about 1hr and a half from Vassar-and no news.Of course today is Sunday. So I am correct in saying that letters were mailed, Sat. Then we would probably not have it yet.
But do you really think they would send it out in pools of acceptance, deffered rejected?? seems too complicated to me.

I've heard of letters being set "in batches" before, but I thought that usually happened with larger schools. I don't remember it happening regular decision two years ago, at least... I believe the three people from my school who applied to Vassar all heard the same day, even though two were rejected and one was accepted.

NO emails yet.

Congrats chocholic1091! The anticipation is KILLING me. I'm an international and am waiting for my email!!!

Hi everyone I am so delighted to report that my son was accepted to Vassar ED1. The postman brought it by at 9am, because he knew we were waiting for it. A nice bottle of wine goes to him! We brought it right over to the HS and my son was ecstatic. We went to a quick trip to Starbucks, but then my son wanted to tell all his friends. Anyway more of you shoild be hearing today so best of luck and thank you to everyone who offered their support so generously!

I GOT IN =D!! Posting my details on the other thread :)

rejected. oh well.

AHHHH!!!! I am in!!!!

Mindy - my son is a freshman and plays trombone in the jazz band. At a concert on 12/5 the director made a comment asking admissions to bring him more trombones- funny! So I imagine your son has a spot if he wants it. Maybe you know this, but you can see a webcast of the jazz concert from a link from the music department. I drove down from Mass. to see the concert and it was great!

Woohoo!
I'm in. Ah, this peace. I haven't wanted anything so badly in a very long time. And I haven't been so happy in a very long time either =)

Rejected, oh well. Congrats to those who got in and best of luck to everyone.

Ha we debated for awhile about whether to send a music jazz tape-but my son nixed it cause he didnt want to major in music so we didn't. Well it's great to know he will have a place on the Jazz Band. My son's name is Dan so maybe Chris can keep an eye open for him. Does Chris like Vassar, what is he majoring in?

Deferred. Disappointing, but at least it's not a rejection! Now I won't know until late March though :(

Hello everyone. Have been reading for weeks, but never posted.
I've been anxiously tracking the geographic progress of the decisions, since I live in LA (pretty much the furthest you can be). ;)
Anyway, I just got in!!!
Congratulations to all I look forward to getting to know you!

A-FREAKIN-CCEPTED!

School was canceled because of snow (I live in Portland, OR...so this is a BIG deal!) it felt like FOREVER today.
I'm posting my stats on the thread

Mindy - my son LOVES Vassar. He expects to major in theater with a minor in education. He is doing all kinds of music stuff and is in a student directed theater production that will get performed in Feb. For him the academic adjustment has been there but he is very, very happy.

Fantastic news, Mindy!!!! You must feel so relieved.
Sometimes dreams do come true...

Thanks, so much I am so very relieved and he tells me that he is as happy as he has ever been. I have cotracted a brutal flu-no doubt from all this worrying! does anyone know when Financial aide estimates will be mailed out. Thanks!
