pray? luck?

I got a horrible TA for hist 1a, he grades really hard and is a jerk to students. And I thought it'd be an easy GE.....

exaclty, theres no way to tell... you can take a "Difficult" class and be surprised with an easy TA too

What's a good way of figuring out how good each TA is for a given class, or even who they are (sometimes they're not listed, I think)?

well you could attend every TA's discussion for the 1st week, and transfer to the disc. section of the best TA

Right, you pretty much can sit in at any TA's discussion, as long as the class time fits in your schedule.

So by Week 2, if you decide your TA sucks, ask aroiund or sit in other TA sessions.

passerby: do you have aaron irvin by chance...?

My friend said the class is very interesting but more time-consuming that she thought (a lot of reading). She ended up dropping it this quarter to concentrate on her other three classes (which are pretty hard). But if you have easier classes, then she recommends taking it.

Any recommendations on Political Science 40: Intro to American Politics ? I am already taking 3 difficult classes and want a real EASY GE

^the professor is great in that class.. lynn "warddrobe malfunction" vavreck lewis. but its unliekly to b e a REAL EASY GE

What are some real easy GEs? I'm not looking to do lots of work or write several papers....perhaps a midterm and final at most with minimal amounts of work. Any suggestions?

if you read the thread, some have already been listed (there's not many...let's put it that way)...so AO3...AA10..some others

how is into to philosophy of the mind (philo 7)?

MadeInChina: No, I have Miguel Chavez. I heard Aaron grades pretty harshly too though; is that true?

passerby: oh man...i guess we got unlucky with the hard-grading TAs haha. yeah...he just got out of service for the marines so he's kinda harsh on the students and our papers.

A&O 3 isn't as easy as everyone makes it out to be. Sure, there are open note, open book and open partner quizzes. But they leave you unprepared for the midterm (and final too, I would assume), which are tricky and makes up more than 50% of your grade.

Personally, I think Neuroscience 10 is an easier class. No homework (other than reading), no papers, no quizzes, and no discussion classes. Your grade is based on 3 straightfoward, non-cumulative exams that are curved in the end. The material is kind of interesting and the professors are pretty cool. :)

How easy is Sociology 1 - Intro. to Soc.?

philo 7 isnt easy philosophy... its very abstract. if you have that kind of mind it could be easier. but if you are more literal than take one of the earlier numbered pihlosophies that focus on actual concepts.
have also heard nightmare stories about this miguel chavez TA in history.... a history TA i highly recommend is liz everton though

if AO3 is hard, how is AO2? and thanks for the neuroscience tip...need more easy GEs

how do you know which ta teaches which section?

has anyone taken WAC 22 with NOONAN, K.E. / GRAHAM, T.A. / VIARNES, C.G.?
