I’m honestly so confused as to why admissions aren’t colorblind. Don’t get me wrong, I think diversity is a great thing to be around, but I’m not so certain its the right thing when it’s being forced on society… Socio-economic affirmative action actually serves a purpose that helps high achieving, low income students to rise in the social structure and do better financially than their parents. But what does racial affirmative action really do? Other than bring back racial tensions of the 60’s??
I’m not trying to start some heated argument, but could someone (maybe a left wing liberal) please explain to me why racial affirmative action is necessary?
