<p>Okay, from what I've heard it seems that I will but a Macbook Pro for college and become a first time Mac user (yay!). But does anyone know when (if ever) Apple will give out those Nanos along with the educational discount? It seems like a decent deal with all this quality stuff you're getting.</p>
<p>We did that last year with our son. Our daughter swiped his computer so we bought him another one this year. List price was about $2K. 10% discount on the computer brought it down to $1,800. We paid for the Nano and got a rebate (relatively painless process for a rebate). We did this in August. Apple is releasing new MacBooks in June so I think that they won't announce the Nano program until after that. The program might be used to clear out Nanos before new model introductions too.</p>
