The End of the Beginning...2007

Thanks for the link. I know how they feel. This year was easier as we left our D who is a sophomore now. It was still hard but not nearly as hard when they are so excited to be back and they know people. Our oldest daughter was also home all summer. She left this morning and now we are back to the empty nest again. All my tears shed this morning are just me feeling sorry for myself. Luckily they're both off to great adventures and for that I shed tears of joy!

Here's to a great semester for everyone!

My guess is that Kaysmom and I are getting essentially the same stories since S started classes yesterday with the closeknit group of MT/Acting kids she references above. Orientation Week provided a fun bonding experience; yesterday was the wake-up call that reminded them how hard they will be working in such a demanding program! S makes it through all transitions with a few stresses and strains and has since he started preschool so we're confident he'll find the right balance. Yesterday he initiated the call home, though, and made clear he felt that doing his homework immediately was going to be a necessity, if he is to keep up with the mounting workload. Growing up?...
We do miss him and the music in the house.

I just wanted to say hi to the other parents whose kids are starting at CMU, as my son is also an actor there. He also is having a great time but just a bit intimidated by the workload. He tells me Stephen Schwarz is coming Friday.
He'll be home this weekend to see his girlfriend (and maybe us) because he figures it will be the last time he can break away before the holidays.
Anyway, greetings.
