Well, if I had a dollar for every time I've seen a homeless man with a "Repent! (and pass me a five)" sign, I'd have well over a hundred dollars.

Jesus said that He would come like a thief at night, so be ready at all times. so yea, you're right pixiedanzer.

I agree with hung, but to Christians, these aren't predictions. It's truth.

Not a fair approximation for everyone, though.

My faith doesn't require you to believe in it or not. What I know as truth is truth, despite your opinions. Wow that sounded so Matrix-ish.

yeah hopefully the world doesn't end tomorrow...LoL (hello, i haven't even gone to college yet!)

but if it does, i figure i've been pretty happy with my life and who i am up to this point

anyways, on a less selfish note. i bet when the tsunamis hit the countries in SE Asia, people thought it was the end of the world. i dread thinking about what it would have been like to go through something liek that.

My uncle was in Thailand. So was my French Teacher...

But they're fine.

Well, it's not truth to all Christians. I'm pretty hardcore Catholic, and I don't really believe in the Bible Code, nor does the Catholic Church support it in any way (I'm pretty sure).

I'm catholic too and despite its view of women I'm pretty into it, but I think being overzealous in anything is dangerous. I've seen what organized religion has done!

haha yeah, some views and positions seem a tad extreme, but I'm more into the morality thing...abstinence, drinking, etc etc

that was so random, I forgot to agree with iamhung (awkward name to type) :)

yeah and being against birth control?! what the heck is that? I don't want 12 kids.

the catholic church seems to be big on guilt, but I guess it keeps us in line. (when I say birth control I mean after marriage of course) < see that is because of guilt from the catholic church. It has been beaten into me after years and years of catholic school!

haha, that's a big one that comes up. The church prefers abstinence for teens and the such who aren't married, and once you're married, to practice "family planning." lol, I don't really want to be a preacher, so I'll just leave it at that. Oh yeah, stem cell research is another biggie, as well as abortion.

who is it that you are agreeing with? the church?

HAHA the Bible Code is pretty funny. I read in this book called, "Will Catholics be Raptured" and was amazed to find how much the Catholic outlook on the end times differs from the PRotestant view. werd.

yeah, either way a jack catholic like me is going to be burning in the seventh level of hell with all the lawyers

:( I hope not.
asdfasdgasdfgjlaksefhkljahsefilu <-- stupid 10 character limit

Well, I don't have a really firm position on all these topics, I was just bringing them up because it was in the same line as birth control. I thought you weren't Catholic at first, but it seems like you've been educated at one, so nevermind.

IM Protestant, but Im interested in my Religious Roots.

I think CS Lewis said somthing of this effect.

If Christianity is a lie, it means absolutely nothing. But if it is truth, then it is the most important thing on earth.

of course he said it more eloquently, but eh you get the point.

yeah wasn't it voltaire who determined that it was worth believing just in case because if you are wrong then no big but if you're right then at least you aren't in for eternal damnation... I don't necessarily think that fear is the way to go but I like the thought of God it is comforting you know
