The Enlightened Sophmore

I just started to take school more seriously. In freshman, my overall weighted GPA was 3.6 but so far in sophmore, i had a 4.8 in 1st semster and currently gettign a 4.8 so far in 2nd semester. My dream now is Harvard. I had ONE C’s in first semster freshman…am i screwed? Should i just give up on my dream?

I doubt it. In fact, an upward trend is what they like anyways. If the C was in your sophomore year that would be a different story, but in your freshman year, I highly doubt that it matters, what subject was it in?

You will only get into Harvard if you have more than grades and scores...a 4,8 isn't enough. Think about it/

the class was geometry..i had this crazy teacher who doesnt teach and puts in algebra 2 in her test...impossible..the highest grade was a 82 percent. oh yea.,i got a lot of EC's too..forgot to mention..haha..like im treasurer of my grade and secretary and VP in 2 other clubs..debate and book club.

I duno..i visited Harvard in 9th grade summer vacation and loved it. So I was wondering if my C will automatically kill my chances..cuz all these people taking AP Calculus like in 9th grade and getting perfect scores.....scary..

Most colleges look very lightly on Freshmen year grades (its the same way for grad school) - don't worry about it

WHATA RELIEF!!! wow...i was panicking =D

I have to say if you're a sophomore and you were panicing, you're a little too high strung, at least when it comes to college stuff.

With Ivies, any grade that isn't an A will hurt your chances, but they won't take you out of the running. Harvard is a reach for anyone. You might not even want to go there in two years.

Do well in school. Study for your standardized tests. Stay active in your school. Everything will be a-ok.

And follow your passions, and enjoy high school!

be outstanding in w/e u do
