The Envelope

Is it still true that when one receives his or her letter of admittance, it comes in a big envelope and if deferred, waitlisted, or rejected, it comes in a small envelope?

To the best of my knowledge yes. It was like that at least 5 years ago (man I am old).

You're getting me all excited again...

ahha yep

bigger is better in this situation

you can totally tell the difference--i was wait listed and then accepted so i know em both!

alright, sounds good! thanks! man, i'm so excited to find out!

Me too! How soon can we find out? Is it early Dec or mid Dec?
thanks

It was right around the 15th last year as I remember; big 8.5X11 envelope.

Yes! Last year it came in a big white envelope and arrived on Saturday, the 16th (in the Chicago area, that is). Lots of fun-a great moment! Good luck!

Do we have the current students lighting candles in the grotto for this year's EA group yet? I remember that last year, as such a wonderful statement to the "family" of Notre Dame... if not, let's get it going! I'll tell my daughter~she owes it to this years group!

You'll know it when you see it.

Of course, I also received a small white envelope a couple of days before my admittance letter came (RD). After I came out of my coma, I opened it to find a letter from financial aid requesting more forms.

So whatever you do, open whatever comes :)

Best of Luck to you--it is an exciting time!

Irish_hopeful, that is horrible!

Why would they do that???? that would have driven me insane

same thing happened to my friend irish hopeful, only he got a huge package titled "from the office of admissions at the university of nd" in the top corner. opened it up and it was a financial aid brochure. he got in a few days later though. maybe it's a sign lol.

true, they shouldnt care about financial aid if they are going to reject you

I was out for the AirForce game and lit a candle for the current applicants
