Bleh. I fell asleep during every class last year. D: I'm hopeless.

I fell asleep in first period the least, but I think that was because it was Art and I was actually doing stuff, lol.

this is inevitable unless you naturally don't sleep a lot. I LOVE sleeping also. It is such a dread to wake up early in the morning. I set 2 alarm clocks, and when after I wake up, I doze off for like 10 minutes, wake up and reassure myself that waking up this morning will only get me closer to the weekend. I sleep in the shower for like another 10 minutes, and then I go into bed for another 10 minutes. I usually skip breakfast, I go to school like 1 minute before bell rings... I come home and take like 4 hour naps every day otherwise I would go insane.

I love to sleep. :)

It makes everything better. :)

I'm actually going to wake up earlier this year.

Last year i didn't give two ****s about what I looked like, because, I hated that school, and everybody there. But I bought nicer clothes this year and will actually try to look decent, instead of scrubbing it every day lollll.

Anyways, to wake up earlier, usually what I do is take a cold shower, then I brew a big pot of coffee lolo. A shower wakes me up.

But my schedule last year was
6:50am wake up
7:15 school starts
2:15 or 3:15 go home, sleep for 3 or so hours.
Wake up around 7 eat dinner and then let all that jazz so around 10 I start doing all my stuff.
Then I do homework at around 3am or so (I find this the best time for me to focus, I think it's cause its quiet and nobodys bothering me). I go to bed around 4am.
Weird, I know, but it works :)

The only time I wasn't on this was if I was working.

Wow...7:15 for school. I can hardly wake up at sevan to be to school by eight.

yeah I slept at almost every class this year as well.

thanks for the many advices, we'll see how it goes...for a month at least i have nothing to worry about thank god

I sleep from 12:00 to 6:00 AM all year round. I wake up right around 6:00 without the use of an alarm clock. I take a cold shower upon waking. I have no trouble staying awake.

^ I envy iwaswalking... :[

Okay, my school starts at 7:15.
Traffic is SO BAD that I have to leave my house [6 miles away, should be 10-15 minutes away too] at 6:30 to get there on time. Leaving at 6:30 puts me at school at 7:00. Leaving at 6:31 puts me there at 7:16. Not good.
I don't take FOREVERRR to get ready usually [like in the summer I mean], but the earlier I wake up, the longer it takes me to get ready for school.
So during the school year, I wake up at 5:45, sludge around the house, leave [hopefully] by 6:30.

To get up... I have my cell phone alarm go off first at 5:15. The snooze on that goes off every 4 minutes for some reason. So snooze on that a few times. My real alarm clock goes off REALLY LOUDLY with this super annoying noise that probably wakes up my whole house at 5:27. Snooze twice on that [9 minute snooze button] and that puts me at 5:45. Hopefully I wake up.

Sometimes though... in my sleep I turn off my alarms before they go off. I swear. And I don't remember it, but once my mom said she saw me do it. Ehhh. So lots of times I'm late for first period. At our school, you get 2.5 hour detention if you're late 7 times [including late-to-school and late-to-class] for the WHOLE YEAR. w t f. So, halfway through the year with 6 tardies, I decided I could just run by my Latin teacher's room if I was going to be late and get him to write me a pass :] Never got detention. :D

Sorry that was so long, but I think it's pretty entertaining :]

I've been going to bed around 4-5am the past few weeks and sleep around 3pm. But it is extremely hard for me to fully wake up as well. That's why during the school year I get up earlier than anyone else so I can take my time and get used to being awake and stuff... and I was still always late.
Whatever.

iPod dock/alarm on the other side of the room. I make it use the extremely grating, high-pitched alarm sound, so I have to get right up on the first ring to turn it off. Then I take a really hot shower.

i do this, too!
this is why i started to hide my alarm clocks so i can wake up on time (hopefully) and don't turn them off in the middle of the night...

No, I actually do this almost everyday. I lock my door before going to bed, then I set the alarm clocks... and it doesn't matter if I move them. I'll wake up well past them going off... they'll all be turned off and I won't remember a thing.

I'll turn one of mine off in the middle of the night some times. Maybe I just sleep through it until it shuts off. I'm not sure.

my school starts at 7:15 too! people were trying to petition for a later start time, but it didn't work, i guess

My mom wakes me up instead of an alarm, but I'm usually up a few moments before anyway (unless I throw a wrench in things by going to bed at like 2 instead of my normal 11:45, which I totally don't recommend for those waking at 5:30!). She makes me sit up, open my eyes, and then goes and turns on my very bright closet light and leaves the door wide open (which I need shut to sleep well). So I get up, go to the bathroom, and then don't let myself get back in bed by making it. Setting out my clothes the night before helps too (I'm a girl), because then I don't lie in bed "contemplating what to wear" or fall asleep on my closet floor. And water is better than coffee for getting up!

Honestly, the best thing to do is to fall asleep at the same time each night and you'll automatically adjust to waking up whenever. I got a meager 8 hours of sleep a night at my camp this year (it was an exhausting camp, so we needed rest!), but because we went to bed every night at 10:30 and woke up at 6:35 to a trumpet, everyone's body adjusted to wake up a few minutes before reveille. The first week, we were trashed with the adjustment (so start a pattern BEFORE school) and took naps whenever we could, but soon our bodies clicked into a happy pattern.

Whenever I get stressed, I can tell myself to wake up in 5,6 or 7 hours and go to sleep just fine. During the summer, I can't sleep past 9 am, but I do get around 8-10 hours of sleep easy.

I'm not a morning person at all. In the summer, I wake up between 11-1PM and sleep at around 1-2AM. I have a really loud alarm next to me and it wakes me up. Usually afterwards I go to the bathroom and then close my eyes for like 5 mins and then get up and go back to the bathroom and splash my face with water. I just force myself to get up even though I really don't want to.

I'm usually pretty good about getting up, but I still give myself at least a half hour each morning in case I want to get another 20 mins in.

As weird as this sounds, I set my alarm for 2:30 and specifically wake myself up so that I can tell myself "hey, consider yourself lucky. You have 2.5 HOURS left you can sleep!! Now enjoy it, go back to bed, and get your butt up when the alarm rings."

I know, weird....but it makes me feel more well rested when I set my alarm 2x more than I need to. :-/

oh yeah, and another thing: for some reason, I feel incredibly freaking tired ALL DAY if I get between 5 and 8 hours of sleep. I either need less than five or more than eight to feel rested. I hate it...

ASC, same thing, I will feel so incredibly tired if I get right amounts of sleep during the school year, but I like to get 3 hours at night and 2-3 hours during the day. I love my sleeping schedule.

Right now, I'm going to bed around 6:30 or 7am, the past few weeks it's been, lol, school is going to be hell :)

Me too LMU10, but I'm homeschooled so it's all good :D

I work best at night--my perfect sleeping schedule would be to go to bed at 5pm and wake up at 2am or so, but that'll never happen lol. Then again, my BF over in Germany operates on the same schedule (via time zone difference), so I guess that's part of my issue haha...
