I used Mass Maritime, because I am from Mass so I know the mix of majors off the top of my head…
The number reporting for Mass Maritime is 80. You are interpreting one of the reports incorrectly.
I have seen a number of people on CC do this, so it is pretty common. One needs to look at the bottom of the page in the fine print to get the actual number reporting.
Ah ok. That’s better. I mean, I guess it is ok to create a post with data that is off by like 400% in order to convince us that we should be suspect of the accuracy of someone else’s data…
If you’re worried about fair representation for women’s colleges just change the parameters on the PayScale page to Off campus/With FA/Annual % and Wellesley College will come out #1!
(That’s what I mean about PayScale being GIGO-There were only 244 Wellesley respondents and few Wellesley students live off campus so the sample size was likely to be too small to be of much use.)
If we could get everyone to respond – honestly – to teacher satisfaction surveys, outcome surveys, academic quality surveys, etc., that would really help… so:
Students and professionals, please help us to produce better rankings by responding to surveys willingly and honestly. Make the world – your world; our world; the children’s. world. – a better place.
@Mastadon, I realized that the link led me to the “Best Values” list (where you’ll find Pacific Union College at #27), not the ROI list, but the point stands. USMMA, #1 on the ROI list, had 54 respondents; Webb Institute, #8 on the list, had a total of 25 respondents. You can see the sample size listed under the salary bar chart.
