Yeah, DHA, you need to chill. Harvard rejects 90% of their applicants; many of them probably far more qualified than you. It's Harvard.

Well...I have just signed 4 hours of my life away for Jan 28 for the SAT.....again!

LOL... awwww, poor apfreak.

I have faith in you apfreak! I'll keep my fingers crossed for your April decision.

Amnesia, what exactly did you mean by that comment?

Hey I like DHA.

Hey everyone. I'm from the Yale board but I've seen a couple of threads here. I just wanted to say "You go apfreak!" Your determination is amazing, and come April, when you get your letter of acceptance from Harvard, I won't forget to congratulate you :). Also, I know this sounds random, but from the posts here I would agree with RealityCheck. I like DHA too, and I'm so sure he'll make it to someplace great!

I meant what I meant.

You do realize that the Ivy League is the Ivy League for good reasons?

Flash back 250 years during the height of intellectualism.

Yeah, amnesia, because we all know they aren't qualified....;)

Leave ignorance at the door please.

EDIT-Yes, the Ivy League is a collection of the greatest schools in the country. However, this isn't 1800 and it's not a prep school for the white elite. Affirmative Action exists for a very valid reason, and to make an idiotic comment like this is appalling. I'll tell ya, for some people who post on CC who are probably much smarter than me, you aren't too sharp when it comes to other things.

But, of course, it is completely unfair for Harvard to discriminate against th downtrodden trust fund babies in favor of the fortunate poor minorities.

AP Freak I'm gonna feel bad...You're taking the JAN 28 SAT harvard gives results end of feb, beginign of march...not enough time...you can get a 2400 but i don't think it will help.

but you can tell yourself i tried my best - that wont do you sh-it.

you need to look at other colleges, pretty much you're ****de.

Apfreak, keep going. I wish that Harvard would only learn of your desire to attend their school.

I feel I feel like Elle Woods
No, I didnt get into Harvard by the means of a sexy video .
MY BF, WHO GOT ADMITTED TO HARVARD EA, DUMPED ME.
NOW I AM NOT SURE IF I WANT TO APPLY TO HARVARD RD.
I mean, going to Harvard just doesnt sound fun anymore.
Especiallly when HE IS GOING THERE.
The worst part?? Well he said a lot of real bad things to me.
The best part: I didnt give him all that swiss chocolate I bought for him.( I am eating it right now :D)

finally after crying my eyes out, I am back to normal.

I now KNOW WHAT IT IS TO BE ELLE WOODS
BUT WHOS COMPLAINING??
MAYBE I WILL CATCH HOLD OF LUKE WILSON in THE END.

I KNOW ALL THAT BS TALK ANNOYED YOU, SO SORRY.
Circles, apfreak and DHA
DONT GIVE UP. ESPECIALLY YOU CIRCLES. THERE ARE SO MANY OTHER GOOD SCHOOLS. APPLY TO THEM. DONT STOP WORK ON YOUR APPLICATIONS.
please.

Oh but they will my friend. I already have an appeal letter from my teacher. It is extremely heartfelt because I worked with her in writing it. I told her exactly what I felt. I have that...my updated transcript...some SAT prep books...and access to an SAT course Saturdays and online. LET'S GET READY TO ROLL BABY! My transcript even indicated that I have taken yet ANOTHER online class....wow who know maybe I could do threes years of HS in one year. I will begin to update my resume and do research on what will set me apart.

Today was the last day of school so I guess I can start little spurts of prep throughout vacation...sucks. I am positive that if I can drastically increase my score (and um ...I have plenty of room to do so....:)) they will find that devotion admirable. My appeal teacher letter itself is OMG just so heartfelt and admirable as well...my devotion and determination come alive.

HERE I GO!!

go apfreak! you can do it!

apfreak: I truly admire your tenacity! However, please be careful with your campaign. You don't want the admissions to think "good thing we defered this nut. Before we weren't certain but now we KNOW we don't want him".

I am not saying you are a nut, but you don't want to come across as one either. And you certainly don't want Harvard to feel as though you will ONLY be successful with a Harvard education. They want people who will be successful no matter what college they attend. I just think you might be sending the wrong message to Harvard, that's all.

Oh but they will my friend. I already have an appeal letter from my teacher.<<

I wouldn't send an appeal letter. The UCs allow appeals of decisions, but most other schools do not. I think for Harvard the concept of appealing a decision does not exist, otherwise each year they'd get 20,000 apps followed by 18,000 appeals.

Send them new information to consider for the RD round - awards and achievements and such. Send them new test scores, but don't send them an appeal.

apfreak, your determination is amazing. Good luck to you.

But yes, don't make the school hate you with you appeal letter... I'm not sure I'd send that in.

apfreak will get into harvard.

just relax and get that to a 1350.

apfreak, if you need some tips for SAT, let me know. I didn't do well on my first SAT, but I improved tremendously on second time.

hairypotter yeah...PM me over what you did!

Seriously, testing for me is bad NOT because I cannot do it but because of time.

On one ACT test my English was a 24...I was far from being finished. On another I almost finished and got a 30....? Makes no sense...6 is the SAT section equivalent of like almost 200 points!!

For the SAT I need to FINISH! ....(along with accuracy LOL)
