GPA: 3.8
Essay: 5/10 (I love grading myself )
ECs: Have been working as an internet market ever since I was a junior in high school. I have my own business, and my knowledge is expanding everyday as the web keeps on blooming. Not so much of a club or volunteer type of person so I lacked of the quality in that area. Graduated as second best; so, I guess thats a plus.

I hope they don’t reject me just because I don’t have much community service hours or joined any special clubs :p

im pretty worried about ucla & ucb. considering those programs are tops for my major.

Ya Berkeley sometimes feel like they are using a ouija board and talking to the spirits to determine whether you get in or not, but I think you have a really good shot.

GPA: 3.63 (Relatively high for a UC)
Major: Media Studies
EC’s: Two internships, dean’s honors list, officer of communication association, and public speaking awards/experience
Units/Prereqs/IGETC: UC Reciprocity (missing two pre-reqs)

I know that I’m a long shot because of my GPA and missing two pre-reqs. The two pre-reqs I’m missing are not required for my major at my current UC. I know I have good essays and EC’s. I’m crossing my fingers! Thoughts?

I think because I have had so much relevant and great work experience directly related to my major that I really stand a chance. My grades aren’t the best though so I think it’s pretty much a toss up, really just depends on who I’m up against. I really just can’t picture someone reading my app from their department and not seeing how fantastic I’d be :).

@flick–I don’t want to sound like a downer but that’s my current GPA and I didn’t even think to apply to either schools, it is just not competitive enough.

I’m not sure what UCLA’s acceptance rate is for a Philosophy major, I wish you the best of luck!

@Hadrian-you and i look like we’re in the exact same boat! i’m anthro major with 3.95 and all the same things! I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed for both of us!
