The fence

There's a contract out on somebody-nuf said!

Who would do this in broad daylight no less

And if you have no idea what the fence is you should not be considering CMU

Freshman Art students!

https://thetartan.org/2011/3/21/news/fence_attack

I already called dibs on the scathing rant article for this week’s Tartan issue.

NOT THE FENCE!!! Although I’m not a student (yet, God willing), I remember going to an informative meeting and they talked so passionately about it. I wish I would’ve had a chance to see it before those vandals could destroy it!!! Continue updating this so I can find out what is happening with it. :(

Man, I remember the outcry when someone used spray paint back when I was an undergrad; I can’t imagine how misc.market is right now after someone’s taken a hacksaw to it.

I also like how as soon as there’s some sort of shenanigans going on on campus there’s the immediate assumption it’s art majors.

Well, they actually were art majors in this case. According to the guy who caught them at it.

Wow, I cannot believe that anyone would do that! The fence is so central to the campus that any damage to it is an attack directly at the school. I could understand someone calling it silly, but this was just pointless. I would like to see how this goes for the students caught defacing the fence.

Parallel crime:

“ECE students take chain-saw to computer cluster to see what computers are made of and watch sparks fly on circuits-- they were caught by two art students hiding out in an unknown building to avoid being detected. Students rally in support of cluster.”

Sure there’s some artistic value i suppose in knowing how many layers of paint are on the fence-- but it’s private property-- not public, what were those idiots thinking?

Nice turn out at the rally I hear.

We painted the fence black in mourning last night. The sawed layers are going to be filled in with some kind of resin or plaster at some heretofore undetermined date. For those of you who are not on campus/have not seen detailed pictures, the event wall from [Operation: Heal the Fence](Redirecting...) has bunches. Damage was to one pillar and 2-3 feet on either side

This is just uncalled for. I hope those responsible get their just desserts.
