I was sure to mention my involvement in my "Most Meaningful Activity". If you like, I can send you my other essay which was more of a description of what I do and my future plans.

What are you...like in terms of being a Hispanic? I really wonder how many Puerto Ricans applied EA! I mean...if we comprise 1.2% of the freshmen class...um....25 people...then seriously...how many will apply overall...or even more....how many applied EA....hopefully like 50 or less.

I'm Mexican-American.

apfreak-

I never thought I'd be the one to say this, but you need to relax. The decision emails are sent out in less 18 days. Trying to figure out your chances at this stage of the game is counter-productive as it will simply stress you out even more instead of giving you the peace-of-mind that you so desperately want.

Try not to dwell for any length of time on the Harvard situation. Occupy yourself with things to do. Remember, idle hands are baaaad. Limit your time on the CC boards. If you can't do that, then try to focus on college issues other than undergrad admissions. You could look up grad admissions, undergrad majors, possible career paths etc...

I don't really like this thread.

Why is everyone so interested in this?

btw, ur SATs are too low

apfreak: When you talk about Puerto Ricans being 1.2% of the student body- do you think that the majority are from Puerto Rico? Do you think it matters? Maybe you have less of a chance since you aren't from the island.

See how arbitrary this all is? Calm down...

Why does everyone think that I am spazzin' out? I am perfectly calm...I guess it is just my rather dramatic writing style...? I am just VERY curious...about this RANDOM process...just like EA's 4,000 applicants.

APFREAK. PLEASE....

gosh...
okay look u need to relax...
do u need advice? post ur scores and stuff again and let me see which schools u are applying and applied already...

lets just take everything one step at a time

sarcasm...

which schools did u apply and will u apply?

I am going to throw up.

apfreak, you need to give this Harvard thing a rest. I bet an adcom is already going to read your application knowing who it is.

You guys, give the guy a break.
APfreak - I suggest you buy a goldfish. It's rather soothing and you can use it to occupy your time.

"I suggest you buy a goldfish."

LOL!!!!!!!

I HAVE given it up....people just keep on being assertive.....give ME a break....if you have not noticed yet I am posting much less....like every other hour...:)

I HAVE GOOD NEWS FOR YOU APFREAK!!!!!

Harvard clearly states on its admissions website that it will accept either the SAT 1 or the ACT, depending on which is higher. Your horrid SAT score will be completely ignored in lieu of your score of 30 on the ACT!!! A 30 is still below the middle quartile of Harvard acceptees but it will nevertheless keep you competitive.

Man, you're a Hispanic valedictorian who seems to really have made an impact on your community!!!

I honestly don't know what everyone else is talking about, but I think you have just as good of a chance to get into Harvard as an RSI alum. Your scores really aren't that bad...

Just 15 days guys! :)

Hah it's funny to be mentioned in these threads. Yes, life continues after a Harvard rejection. =)

staticsoliloquy,
where are you at present? which university i mean.
are you applying (transfer) to harvard too?

Apfreak, how did you get your GPA so high? How is it calculated?
