The Final Three: USC, Oregon, Maryland

Both have fine academics. But, two VERY different campuses and cultures. In general, I can’t see the same person thriving in Eugene and in South-Central LA.

"I will ask my daughter about Warsaw and post later.

Check the website for scholarship/merit money. They list which are for OOS and amounts just for reference.

I do think a visit would be a good idea if you can swing it. We flew into Seattle and toured a few Washington schools, then drove to Oregon for a few tours, then flew to California for a few. It was a whirlwind week but we enjoyed it and it really helped my daughter decide what she wanted."

I’m planning on trying to take a visit out to Oregon and USC and then Wake (my #4) and Maryland and see how things work out. Looking forward to your post.

Sorru Orangesuspenders, but my daughter did not have any info for you. She said she has briefly met a few Sports Mgt. majors but nobody she knows well and she has not really learned much about that school.

I think if you post some of your questions in the UO specific area you will get some responses because I have read some info about the program on that board.

If you are looking for a warm climate with a good program, you may also want to check out the University of South Carolina. They offer wonderful merit aid, it is closer to home, and has a good Sports Management program.

Thanks for trying!

Thanks for the idea

Thanks, I’ll check it out, although I haven’t heard much about it in the many sports management threads on this board.

I know that there are 2 frequent posters on the SC forum who chose SC specifically for the strength of their sports management program. One is a female senior and one is a male senior so they can probably give you a good idea if they got what they needed from their program. (USCTexan and cathymee’s son)
Try them!

Thanks PA Mom! I feel like such an idiot right about now. When I was reading the sports management threads I saw USC and assumed University of Southern California, not University of South Carolina! Silly me!

Thanks for the references.

Yea it happens all of the time. I usually abbreviate South Carolina as SC rather than USC for that reason. Anyway, hopefully you can get some more ideas there.

yep, glad I started early!
